Final Fantasy IV for DS help

Recommended Posts

So I never played the SNES version of the game, so this is all new to me. Right now I'm having trouble defeating the mother bomb. When she explodes she kills everyone except Cecil. Any tips?

Also, I have no clue how to use the bard. He just seems like a waste of a character. Are there any advantages to him?

Tell your characters to defend make sure their near max HP when Yang says shes about to explode or near the 1 counter. When Edwards turn shows up tell him to hide. If any characters get wiped out use them to restore your fallen characters. It's def different from the last FF IV/II game. But this is what I did. I got wiped out the first time I was like whoa. But I did this tactic and defeated him this way. If you got any melee characters up use them to kill the weaker bombs so they don't kill your nearly fallen players.

Good luck

Actually Edward is a bit better in this version, at least his songs are more effective. I'mhoping they added more songs when he levels up more later down the road. His use all potion item is pretty neat.

thank man...actually i won this fight by a miracle. eveyone died except yang and he killed everyone else. i just used hi-potion on him and he ended up killing everyone.

I could have been real tired when i played today, but I could have sworn when I used edward to do the angel song once, it kept restoring our hp during an entire attack

okay...i need more help here. the game's getting harder and harder now, and i'm still in the beginning of the game!!!

Edward just died and gave me the bardsong ability. Now I have to go to Kain's airship. It looks like my characters die a lot in this level. And the flame-dog thing is usually a much harder challenge than it should be. Where should my characters be right now? The FAQ's aren't really helping.

What do you mean, go to kain's airship? If you mean to give him the crystal, then all you gotta do is first, go in the castle (Don't remember the name of it off hand, I'm stuck in the underworld) talk to the dawnmaidens, and Kain will call you out.

    • Close, but it is for any application starting, not just during boot time. In fact, it probably will not improve boot time at all because during a boot, the CPU is already boosting, so a pre-boost wouldn't change anything. I agree that it isn't exciting (especially considering every other OS already does it), but it is a good thing, even if they are just playing catch up.
    • Any so called performance increase will be in milliseconds, which nobody will actually notice in real world usage.
    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.
