Stargate: Continuum (2008)

Recommended Posts

I bought this movie 2 days ago and got to see it now, and im somehow thinking.... can I have my money back? I swear I saw this same story line somewhere in the series, I also swear that Ba'al was done for. I swear they could of made this movie to wrap up the entire storyline and at the end make it seem like utopia was reached in the universe with all the worlds interacting and living peacefully... like seriously.. what happened? Wheres the Ori? Im so confused!

The ori arc ended with the last movie.

Yes, I have that movie too, however it was too rushed and some of it didnt make any sense. Also I personally think that the special effects in Continuum were horrible... so 90's and the captain of the ship could definetly of been a different actor instead of Browder again!

as was pointed out, The Ark of Truth did the ori thing.

the only purpose of the two movies is to tie up loose ends. that's it. they weren't supposed to have a crazy, insane story

RDA was really only in like one scene.

did you noitce how old and out of shape he was? i'm used to the younger, energetic, more in shape RDA :(

Continuum hasn't been released in Australia yet (another week away) so I can't comment on it yet (other then I plan to pick it on on Blu-Ray :D) I got Arc of Truth and I really enjoyed that one and I've been told Continuum is better

Continuum was good, but ark of truth was horrible. The last battle between the two chicks looked like two balloons filled with air let go instead of CGI.

If the final battle looked like two balloons, then you watched the leaked copy, which didn't have the finished visual effects. (You may have also noted that Adria walked off of a wooden thing, and that she switched back and forth between being on fire, and no being on fire, along with text at one or two points indicating not-present vfx)

If you watched the actual DVD, which had the real visual effects, it was pretty nice. The final battle was very similar to when Oma attacked Anubis, but Adria was more of a red fireball than a ball of glowing light.

I think the problem with the Ark of Truth is that they basically compressed what season 11 was going to be into an hour and a half. Stuff seemed missing... Like, out of the blue they were "Oh yeah, Daniel has been having these visions...."

Continuum, however, played out like a nice long SG-1 story, and not a bunch of stories mashed together. I was happy with it. Though, I would have liked a little more explanation on the machine Ba'al used. It had to have been built by either the Ancients or Anubis, based on the Ancient text on the console...

I've watched Continuum (twice now) and I have to be honest, the first time I watched it I was very disappointed. However, I attributed that to having too high expectations when I watched it the first time, the second watch through I really enjoyed it :p :) (I have to say, it's awesome in HD too )

Stargate noob! gtfo. Go watch all 10 seasons and movies again.

I did enjoy, was nice to see Jack back was like listening a regular episode of SG1 :) . The story was good, I had no expectation about this one so maybe that's why I am not too disappointed. It's just unfortunate that they didn't continue SG1 but I like Atlantis now.

Stargate noob! gtfo. Go watch all 10 seasons and movies again.

I have all 10 seasons, including the movie Stargate, Stargate: The Ark of Truth, and Stargate: Continuum. I also have all 4 seasons of Atlantis (my favourite stargate series).

Continuum wasn't bad if you think of it as "just another episode". If you think of it in terms of an actual Stargate movie... well, it was a disappointment. Though it did rate slightly higher than The Arc of Truth.

I'd like to see another SG1 movie... something that feels more epic and less like a SG: Atlantis episode.

It was nice to see everyone again. Don Davis, RDA, Amanda, and the rest of the SG1 crew.... heck, I even enjoy Ba'al and think he plays a great bad guy.

both the movies were a complete let down, continuum was even worse than ark of truth ... i loved the concept for the movie but they tried to fit too much into it and like the tv series the conclusion comes really quick and about 5 minutes before the end ... im disappointed because i was really looking forward to both the movies i loved watching SG1 (still watch atlantis) and i just feel they could have done a better job with both the movies ... well i never really liked the ori story line but thats another thread.

    • State of Decay 2, Blasphemous 2, and more join Xbox Free Play Days by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The latest Free Play Days offer has just kicked off, giving Xbox players the chance to try out a new selection of games over the weekend. The offerings this time aren't as massive as last weekend, but there are still major releases for Xbox players to jump into. This includes Undead Labs' post-apocalyptic title State of Decay 2, as well as two Team17-published titles. Two of the games being offered this time are available to all Xbox players without needing any kind of Game Pass subscription. In the fully free-to-play section, you can jump into State of Decay 2. The title is both an action survival title and a community builder, letting players choose a map, set up their base, and try to keep the growing zombie threat at bay. Cooperative play is available too. Don't forget that the studio is preparing a third entry for 2027. Next, Blasphemous 2 drops in for Metroidvania and Soulslike fans, where The Penitent One returns for another adventure. The title has tough combat with multiple weapon options, deadly traps to avoid, and platforming sequences requiring a lot of patience and timing. Keep in mind though that the offer does have a 5-hour time limit attached to it. Lastly, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members can now try out the WWII-set first-person shooter Hell Let Loose. The multiplayer game offers 50 vs 50 combat in massive maps, with infantry, tank, and artillery options available for players. Here are the announced games and the platforms they are available to play on: Hell Let Loose (Xbox Series X|S, PC) State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition (Xbox Series X|S, PC) Blasphemous 2 (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One) To easily find the titles on Xbox consoles, first head to the Store, and then in the sidebar, find the Home section. In there, open the Subscriptions tab. The Free Play Days collection will show up in this area. This week's Free Play Days promotions will end on Sunday, June 11, at 11:59 pm PT.
