$150M Marijuana Garden Found in California

Recommended Posts

HEMET, Calif. ? A sheriff's helicopter patrol guided Riverside deputies to a $150 million marijuana garden in remote hills south of Hemet.

An encampment was first spotted in the trees Monday, then the helicopter crew noticed the pot growing in the hills around Sage, in the Red Mountain region east of Temecula.

Sheriff Sgt. Mark Sedgwick says the marijuana was in various stages of growth and a substantial amount of the pot was ready for distribution.

There are no arrests.

Last week, the U.S. Forest Service and San Bernardino County narcotics officers seized an estimated $35 million in marijuana plants and arrested seven people east of the Big Bear Lake.

Most growers don't hang out at their grow fields for this very reason

True, but if the police was intelligent enough, they could have left the place with a couple of traps (hidden cameras, an alarm system and whatnot) to tell them when the growers are there.

Ah yea, just re-read the article. Didnt notice anything about an encampment the first time. Anyhow, even then, $150M, jesus. How do they value these things? I mean Id assume that dude would be selling to various ditributors in amounts of an ounce and larger, so they cant value it by saying 20$ per gram found or anything. Thats still like 150,000 plants, I smell bs. Should be free either way.
