Maybe they can bring in Rhino or Shocker :)

i think those two are a little unrealistic, but so would lizard, so who knows? I know venom was kinda unreal (like he is a computerized symbiote...) but he is such a classic character its easy. A guy who shoots lightning and a huge guy on steroids dressed in a rhino costume would prolly turn away to many people.

I have never been a big fan of Spider-Man though I do enjoy the movies, so here's to hoping that it will be good, unlike number 3 ;) .

It's a movie from a comic book so it's not bad for it to be unrealistic. You have to keep in mind that most of them are mutants as well, so with that in mind it's not that unrealistic inside the Marvel + movie world IMO.

Venom isn't a computerized symbiote. The symbiote originaly came from space aboard a space shuttle.

@Razorwing: I wouldn't start worrying about that right now. No one said that Carnage would be in the movie. Also, 2011 is still far away so they've got plenty of time to write a good script.

Well, Spiderman 3 was wasted opportunity. Venom should have been developed properly, not tacked on at the end while trying to integrate him into the plot.

2011 wow, that's a long wait, mayb Sony is waiting to rollout PS4 with it, lol

To bad Kirsten Dunst isn't in this one it seems, what a shame, I guess the love story is over now how 3 ended.

I guess she's an at home wife and spiderman is out all the time.. lol

Yeah I would love them to use Carnage and I think if they can make this movie really dark then it would be an awesome edition.

I hope it's never made personally, they've already butchered it to death with 3 terrible films

I disagree. The second movie was very good. The first was alright..it really felt like you were watching a live comic book. Though Green Goblin just didnt do it for me. The 3rd film was bad. Completely ruined Venom. Its pretty hard to ruin a character like that. But they managed to pick an actor who had no business even auditioning for that role. Of course he didnt have to, Im pretty sure his BFF Toby made sure he got the role.

I agree. Spider-man 1 & 2 were my favorite comic book films (before Batman Begins came along, and subsequently the Dark Knight), but 3 was terrible. Hopefully they listen to the fans on this and go back to the styles of 1 & 2 for this next one.

Tobey Maguire's deal to star in Spider-Man 4 and Spider-Man 5 is worth $50 million (?28 million), says The Times.

The actor's contract reportedly includes a reduced work schedule allowing him "family time" to look after 22-month-old daughter Ruby Sweetheart.

Spider-Man 4 and 5 will shoot back-to-back for six months next year, with Maguire taking the mornings and evenings off.

Sony had initially been reluctant to agree to his terms and began sounding out potential replacements. However, studio head Amy Pascal insisted on a deal being made.

A friend of Maguire said last week: "Tobey admits he is obsessive-compulsive about everything he does and raising Ruby is no different. There's no way Tobey would allow work, no matter how well paid, to get between him and Ruby, and Sony realised that."

The Spider-Man films have grossed in excess of ?2 billion at the worldwide box office.

For quite some time now, ?Spider-Man? star Kirsten Dunst has had one major condition as to whether or not she?d sign-up for any future sequels of the franchise ? that director Sam Raimi and co-star Tobey Maguire be signed on as well.

Well, now that the news has broken that both Raimi and Maguire have signed back on for a fourth and fifth installment ? with a hefty paycheck attached as well ? MTV News posed the big question to Dunst while she was promoting her upcoming film, ?How to Lose Friends and Alienate People? with Simon Pegg. Is she in ?I?m in,? said the actress matter of factly. However, when pressed to make the announcement official, Dunst quickly changed her tone, and rather cryptically added, ?I?m not saying anything, I know there?s rumors?? know there?s rumors??

So while Dunst wasn?t quite ready to make any announcements, her ?How to Lose Friends? co-star, Pegg, took the opportunity to break some [non]-news of his own.

?I?m in ?Spider-Man!?? joked Pegg. ?I play Mary Jane?s brother. He comes to New York from the university, and he says, ?Hey, what are you doing hanging out with that web-crawler???

So what say you, Splash Page Spidey fans? Think Dunst will don the red wig again as Mary Jane? Or do you think the franchise can manage without her? Let?s hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Sam Raimi Talks Spiderman 4

Although things weren?t looking too good for awhile, ?Spider-Man? has overcome adversities tougher than a Green Goblin-Doc Ock team-up, and now once again has Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi in his corner. But what about Kirsten Dunst?

?Kirsten, I?d love to work with her again,? Raimi explained to us this week, making it sound as if current plans to include Dunst for ?Spider-Man 4? and ?Spider-Man 5? are still up in the air, despite recent statements that she wants to remain with the franchise. ?I hope she?ll be written into it. I couldn?t imagine making one without her, and I think she?s an important part of the movies.?

Nevertheless, Raimi admitted that the very nature of an episodic series requires that characters come and go. ?I wish I could work with James Franco again,? said the man who directed the first three hit movies. ?But his character died in the last one; same with Uncle Ben. Fortunately, we?ve been able to bring back all the dead characters [like Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn or Cliff Robertson as Ben Parker]. I can?t let them go, in each and every picture; but it gets harder and harder.?

Now things are about to get hard yet again for Raimi, as he?s making plans to continue the cinematic tale of Peter Parker. ?I?m really excited about Spider-Man, and I?m hoping to direct it,? he cautioned. ?I don?t have a script yet, but production would start probably by March of 2010, I?m guessing. It sounds like a long time away, but we need a script first, and a lot of pre-production has to take place.?

The filmmaking legend also revealed to us that there is a lot of truth behind rumors that he might shoot the next two ?Spider-Man? films at the same time. ?That had been talked about,? he said, deferring to the head of his studio. ?It?s Amy Pascal?s decision. I don?t think it has been decided yet, and she?s the one that?s really going to make that decision; I?m really curious myself.?

By his own admission, ?Spider-Man 3? was an exhaustive film to shoot, but Raimi is confident he can handle the double duty. ?It would be a real endurance test, probably only Peter Jackson knows how hard something like that would be,? he marveled, hinting that ?4? and ?5? would be very closely linked in storyline. ?If Tobey and me, and all the producers, like the story for two pictures and Amy wanted to do it, then we would do it. It just hasn?t been written yet.?

Finally, Raimi offered comment on the wishes of fans (and yours truly) to finally let Dylan Baker?s storyline come to fruition. ?He?s a great actor, and I think one day The Lizard?s story will be told,? he teased, referring to Baker?s Curt Connors character. ?I don?t know if it will be this one or not. I just don?t know. I?m definitely hoping to work with Dylan in the picture. I just don?t know who the villain is yet.?
