In a very hacky way. Sidebar is still separate from explorer. Just has extensions in explorer to make it seem integrated.

Of course... It's still early. Although if for some reason a gadget were to crash the sidebar.exe instance, at least it wouldn't take out explorer.exe with it... So in that regard, the separate processes are nice.

if you ask me each gadgdet shoud have it own thread so if one gadget crash , nothing get affected except the offending gadget

Of course gadgets have their own threads. Many gadgets have several.

If you meant processes, they are grouped into separate host processes to help reduce the impact of a crash.
