iPhone headset when cold

Just starting to notice as it's now beginning to get bitterly cold here in the UK - when the temperature is cold, the little button on the headset becomes almost impossible to press.

Out of sheer luck rather than judgement, you can get the occasional "single click", as well as the odd "double click" without feedback (i.e. you can't feel the button move, however, it still registers), however, trying to get a triple click is pretty much impossible.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

yes i have this problem too! at first i thought that button got broken. but then after keeping headphones in warm temp they started working again. its weird, and it doesnt allways happen.

i wonder what part freezes there which makes it hard to click. someone should take it apart :p

I just put mine in the freezer for a minute and you're right, the button completely stops working.

Once it returns back to room temp. it starts working again.. lol

hmm it will be the second winter for iphone. was there no problems a year ago(for those who had it for so long)?

Ive had my old one since they came out... and don't have this issue

Sounds like it relies on the plastic bending to click. When it freezes the plastic stiffens, making it harder to push. shockz might not experience this because he's had his for a while now so it's quite flimsy. Just a guess.

Pfft. You call that COLD?

I live in Canada, and I also work inside of a cold room, where the temperature is always 3 degrees C. That is bitter cold my friend, and I keep my iPhone inside my pocket at all times. I can feel the back of my iPhone gets really cold, but the home button / power button both function fine, and dont feel any different
