What do people use Shockwave for?

I remember using it to play online games -- many years ago.

Since then, I don't remember ever using this for anything else?

Yeah, what are the current uses for Shockwave? I remember it back in the day, circa 2000, it was used for some online games, but I haven't seen it used in some time.

As far as I remember, MS Encarta requires it.

i agree with comments above... as not really anything uses it much anymore as far as im aware so in other words i would probably NOT install it cause all it would do is open your PC up for more ways of attack.
