what's keeping you from getting a MAC?

Nothing... I own a Mac, I run Windows on it though. I got it cheap from work though and it's an "OK" machine with a decent battery life, I'd never pay Apple prices unless I got a significant discount (like I did on this one). Most overhyped machines ever, I really don't know what people see in them.

I can't stand Apple and I won't support them.

I'm with you on this one, their products are quite nice but i don't like the company itself, and the only thing i can do to support my ideas is to not purchase anything from them. Besides FLOSS software is plenty for my needs.

Mostly cost and because my software (read games) only support Windows (yes I'm aware you can run Windows on a Mac). Also I've grown up with Windows (even though the first computers I used were Macs!) and it's what I'm comfortable with, don't see changing for the sake of change when Windows does the job just fine :)

1-Too much expensive, ratio between specs-price for the hardware is very bad, relatively to PC.

2-No much variety software like Windows and Linux, specially good freewares(and warez too :p).

3-Hardware drivers, specially modem and printer.

4-Learning curve, at least to know how the stuff works, specially talking about the security part, to know exactly the effect of every click you do.

5-Technical support, specially that there isn't any near Apple store, at least hardware technical support.
