+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted October 29, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted October 29, 2009 Completely off-key move from someone like Nintendo in the portable market IMO. So soon after the DSi as well, and I don't really think there is much of a public outcry for a bigger screen tbh. The DS doesn't need a bigger screen, it doesn't have the hardware to take advantage of it and WTF at the weight of the device? It weighs more than the original PSP? LOL 158g – PSPgo189g – PSP-2000 189g – PSP-3000 214g – DSi 218g – DS Lite 275g – Nintendo DS 280g – PSP-1000 314g – DSi LL Not to mention it being bigger in size taking away what the DS had over the PSP1000-3000, portability. Bit of a fail move from Nintendo for once. Fred Derf Veteran Posted October 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 29, 2009 One shouldn't judge this by hardcore gaming standards. The DS series has become more and more popular with people using it for recipes, brain trivia and other non-traditional games. They are likely thinking to expand in different and indeed opposite directions from a Sony portable gaming device. Whether or not it has the hardware to run a first person shooter at high resolution is a moot point here. That isn't the direction that they are interested in going in and frankly it is well covered by other products from other companies. The fact that we are seeking pink and purplish prototypes should only confirm what I just wrote.
