Type 1 font program

Question

im looking for a program that can edit those. the quality of Type 1 fonts is a LOT better that True Type, they are so smoooooth!!?: i would like the program also to convert TrueType fonts to Type 1. of course, i prefer that it'd be free...but if not, its also fine!

Thanks in advance:DD

btw, these fonts are also called PostScript fonts, right? or is it something else?:

[EDIT]

oh, i almost forgot:laugh:: i need it to support languages other than english!

[/EDIT]

FontLab is a very nice program for Making, Editing or Converting fonts ( from TT to T1 or vice versa )

http://www.fontlab.com/ ( its not cheap! )

Also Macromedia have Fontographer which is also good http://www.macromedia.com/software/fontographer/

Here is a slightly cheaper Font Editor program

http://www.high-logic.com/fcp.html

Yes they are also known as Postscript ;) I personally dont use any TT fonts any more as T1 are as you said so Smooooth, especially at larger sizes.
