Hey all, so since neowin has proven a good and reliable source to discover new things on topic of my liking here and here I'm looking for bands along the lines of:

Underoath
Norma Jean
The devil wears prada
The chariot
Maylene and the sons of disaster
Chasing Victory
Beloved
Oh sleeper
Emery
As Cities Burn
Oceana
Deftones ( their old stuff was hardcoreish)

I'm liking Oh Sleeper and Emery.

I'd recommend listening to better music. Seriously, anything that has "core" in the genre title IMO SUCKS!!!

You're entitled to your opinion... One of the reason I like, say The Chariot, is because, they recorded their first album, completely live in a studio, eg. raw material and man it is amazing... But I guess it's an acquired taste.

Poison the Well's last album was really good, and I consider them post hardcore. Check it out.

Memphis May Fire, Horizons, Sienna Skies, Ice Nine Kills, Our Last Night, Terakai, Your Memorial, The Amity Affliction, and Counterparts. Just a couple off the top of my head. Some of them are pretty unknown, but they're really good.

Woe, Is Me.

Another stand-out song is [&] Delinquents.

Parkway Drive.

Another song you might like from them is Sleepwalker.

In Fear and Faith.

Another popular song by them is The Taste of Regret.

Let me know if these are your style and I'll post some more!

Fame over demise is bit to "growly" for me, I prefer "cleaner2 screamiing, but let me listen to delinquents.

In fear and faith! Yes! Clean vocals and screaming! However... The song was going well until they used AUTo-tuning for the clean vocal, i was like :|

In Fear and Faith sound a bit like Blessthefall, or vice versa:

I don't care for the video though. I gotta wonder if they purposefully keep showing the camera men.

Ah yes, the video I linked is from their first EP, however they also released this song on their first album Your World on Fire, and they don't use such obvious autotuning in that part. Here's a link to that version. If you like that song, you should like that whole album.

Here's a few more:

Dance Gavin Dance.

They are a bit different. Another: The Robot With Human Hair Pt. 2 1/2.

A Day to Remember.

They are a bit more pop punk, with songs like Have Faith in Me.

Settle the Sky.

A Skylit Drive.

And here's one of their older songs: Drown the City.

thank GOD someone else knows about beloved!!! beloved are among my favorite bands. and what's with this? no thrice? THRICE??? check out thrice. don't go passed their vheissu album; they turn into some pop genre. the earliest album, identity crisis, has a hardcore/punk sound (well organized punk, in the least; not crazy clatter), but still remains very well focused on melody (as with about all their albums); illusion of safety strives away from the punk, but keeps the perfect balance--about my favorite of all their work; the artist of the ambulance is very well directed and seems to be the "people's favorite;" and vheissu stands as their main focus on melody, and the farthest from punk, but they don't eliminate their hard screams/yells which is respectful. i highly recommend beloved and thrice; they have songs that you WILL become addicted to.

thrice:
illusion of safety
deadbolt

to awake and avenge the dead
(the real recording is over the bogus video. don't watch; listen.)

I always thought Thrice to be more punk than anything else. Probably wrong to think that but there you go.
