I can't comment on the future of our own client, but I recently worked with the guys who make AirFoil to integrate the Mac Spotify's metadata and control through AirPlay devices via that app. The Windows Spotify client doesn't support metadata and control, but AirFoil can still broadcast audio around.

Tip find a UK buddy, have em register an account for you, then you login and change the country to USA and you have a valid account.

Completely forgot about AirFoil. I even have a license. Thanks for the tip, and the integration is neat!
