How to transfer contacts to new iPhone?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting an iPhone on Wednesday from an Apple store. What is the easiest way to transfer my contacts from my BlackBerry to the iPhone?

Can you transfer the contacts to your computer first?

iOS will import contacts from several other programs. On Apple, the "Address Book". On Windows it can be from the system Contacts app, Outlook, etc.

I suppose that could be done, but I don't have Outlook. I'd have to use something else... Maybe Windows Live Mail? I have Windows 7.

You can sync your contacts to a Gmail account and your iPhone will download them. That is what I did when I switched my Android phone.

Ask someone at the Apple store to do it, my brother was offered that service when he upgraded from a Sony Erricson to an iPhone 4, he just popped into the apple store and they migrated his contacts for him.

Best way to transfer contacts is Outlook or Google. If that doesnt work or you feel uncomfortable just ask someone at the apple store, they would be GLAD to help you to do it and they will do it the best and fastest way possible. They have all the tools and etc so you wont have to worry about "did it transfer"etc.

ALSO, if you have a blackberry on ATT, save all your contacts to SIM, the iPhone 4 can actually import Sim Contacts.

OFFTOPIC:

Just letting you know getting an iPhone at this point and time is a waste. New ones "around" the corner so I would say wait.

+1 to both points, most shops have a little device to copy contacts between SIM's, in settings on the iPhone you can import them.
