At least now you can enjoy your wallpaper more since, at least for me and some others, you won't have to pin icons to the desktop. I'm really thinking I'll finally go multimonitor with Win8 but now the question is should I opt for the new monitor to be touch screen as well? If so it'd be the one that always shows the start screen while I keep doing what i'm doing on the desktop like I have been. Simple glance to the left to see the live tiles and if I have to do anything I can just quickly reach up to hit the tile and not have to drag the mouse all the way over.

for me i don't like having desktop apps on metro so my setup desktop apps on desktop taskbar and metro apps on startscreen :)

if you have a monitor without touch i'd say go for touch screen monitor in that way you will enjoy both worlds more
im going to do the same

That's what I'm thinking as well, right now on Win7 I have my most used apps pinned to the taskbar, which would be the same thing I do for Win8. Some stuff I don't use often are pinned on the desktop though but those can be pinned to the start screen (shortcuts to games etc).

Since people seem to be a big fan of my USS Enterprise-D wallpaper, I thought I'd share this one too.

Wooo, wait a min, looking at your screenshot, at the taskbar. Does this mean you can set different behavior between the different screens? What I mean is, on the left the pinned icons show text but on the right they're the default it seems. Is that the case? And how did I miss this?

Yeah, the taskbar on the primary monitor can be configured independently to secondary monitors:

With all my new apps (new office and new creative suite), happy :)

And yes the multi monitor options are far better in W8! But wait a sec, its just for tablets right? haha (not aimed at anyone in this thread, just at haters in general) :)

Can't wait to get the updated desktop tile UI we've seen in the surface demo. That should help things out. I also want more customization options though. I think letting you have different types of tile "themes" would be a good idea as well. Instead of just the default look, there could be a few more options.

Do you have pictures or video of it? I am curious about it.

Seeing all the screen shots, I really want to install the preview.

(Look at the bigger app icons on the tiles. Btw Lightroom icon still smaller, so it looks like not all applications will have big icons)
