AVG or Microsoft Security Essentials

Question

So I currently have AVG Internet Security 2012. I'm thinking about switching to MSE. So my question is which one is more lightweight, takes up less space, and works the best? Thanks,

Everyone seems to have jumped on the MSE bandwagon lately....I agree its more lightweight and AVG has got a little bloated howerver....http://www.av-test.o...ts/julaug-2011/

I'd take security level over any other aspect where AV is concerned. AS AVG gets my vote.

plus most modern PC's (core i something, 4+GB ram etc..) should be able to cope with any AV these days, so lightweightness isn't as much of an issue as it used to be

ok one more vote for MSE. I haven't been able to recommend any of the other free ones more than MSE just yet, that's gotta say something.

AVG is definitely a bad choice. I switched to MSE, but I find that Avira seems to protect a little better for me. I run Avira on one machine and MSE on another.

Of free anti-virus software goes, I like MSE and Avast. Both are pretty good. If it was a paid application, the new Norton 2012 is impressive or the ole stand bye of Kaspersky/NOD32 work great.

Neither, I do not like MSE and the fact the updates have to come through Windows Update. I stick to Avira.
Updates do not have to come through WU. They can come through the application too. See the big green "Update" button? Click it ;)
