So, I have a few videos where I don't understand whta is stopping the resolution getting bigger as I increase the player size.

I open this video in VLC player and when double clicking on it (full screen), then I get a large black border around the video. It's almost like the video has an upper limit to it's resolution, yet many, many other videos will stretch as far as the screen resolution.

Is there anything I can do?
Even stranger is I can't test it out on this computer as Windows Media player doesn't want to play MKV files anymore, while the PC in the next room will play them happily :s

Thanks
