ASUS Transformer (1st gen) - ICS by Early February

After the extremely fast and desirable ASUS Transformer Prime got its Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade this week during CES, owners of the original threw their hands up saying ?WTF ASUS.? Well, the Transformer Prime is definitely getting the update but we now have a very specific window to look forward to. Android Police was told that the update would be out by early February meaning you might not have to wait more than a month to get your Ice Cream on. We all know that things can change at the drop of a dime, though, so don?t be too vexed if things don?t go as planned.

Guess I will be bringing my Transformer back to stock in a month. Can't wait for ICS :)

Nice ICS project going on here, I flashed this to my TF couple days ago before the latest update - runs very well, not tried since the audio etc was fixed but it was stable and fast and made Honeycomb seem like Vista @512mb ram vs 7 SP1 @ 4GB RAM

Okay, a few months ago, I bought the original Transformer and keyboard for my dad. What benefits is he going to see in upgrading?

Here are a few...and as far as graphical changes, not a lot. ICS looks a lot like HC with a few minor changes. So no need to relearn the OS.

And here is a video that explains ICS. From the Google/Samsung event...

This is indeed generous of ASUS.

Will check it out on a friend'

Generous? Its to be expected from ASUS. They have released several Honeycomb updates as well. They are good with keeping devices updated.

Can't wait. Not that it even matters much for a tablet. ICS is more an upgrade for phones, the differences wont be as major for the tablet editions. The transformer is good for whatever I want to do with it, it's my phone that i'm more looking forward to ics for.

Its major for tablets as well. Its the OS that a lot of people have been waiting for. One OS for both the phone and the tab. Just one of the things Google is trying to do to make things better.
