xcode [Xcode] Product -> Archive is disabled?

I have Xcode 4.2.1 and I'm trying to upload my app to the App Store. In the past, I have done this by going to the Product menu, then clicking on Archive. However, Archive seems to be disabled for some reason. Is there another way to upload my app? Or is there a way to make Archive enabled?

make sure you are targeting device and not the simulator :) thats normally it. If not then edit your schemes and check they are right.
