I was very sceptical about this game (as I am of all EA sequels these days) but I have to say I'm pretty impressed so far. Although it is Maxis doing it IIRC, which may explain it.

You can be almost sure it'll use EA's proprietary and highly intrusive DRM system called Origin.

Looks pretty nice but a bit simple at the moment. No options for making farms? And it doesn't look like you can control what size you make the zones either.

Man, I shouldn't have seen the gameplay demo. I really want to get it now, but (unless something has changed) I know that I can't.

I literally can not wait for this! It looks fantastic. Back when they announced it I was surprised and just chuffed to bits. One of my all time favourite games was Simcity 4. I think 4 is hated so much because you actually had to combine some logic and strategy in the game and not just do whatever the hell you like and have it work i.e it was more of an effort to get it to be fun but I loved it and spent literally hours playing it. This game play video reminds of those times and only fuels fuels my anticipation more . Can't wait

It zones by density and lot size...

Is that regarding the farms? Didn't Simcity 4 have four industrial zones - 1 for farms and then one each for low/medium/high density?

You never had a specific option to zone farms. Low density industrial zones could potentially develop into farms depending on pollution, size, location and whatnot. But they could just as well develop into smaller factories.
