EA has announced a major free trial offer that's going to hit Battlefield 6 next week. As it proudly confirmed via social media, the "best-selling shooter of 2025" will be available for anyone to jump in and play across PC and consoles, and it's coinciding with the Season 2 launch too.
The Battlefield 6 Free Trial will kick off on March 17 at 5AM PT, with it slated to come to an end on March 24. The weeklong event brings access to several of the game's multiplayer maps and modes, with the single-player campaign being locked away.
To jump in, players will need to download the free-to-play Battlefield: REDSEC's client. Once the next major update hits the battle royale, a Battlefield 6 trial option will appear in the main menu. Any unlocks players make in the main game during the event will carry over to the free-to-play game to use as well.
As for what content will be available, three playlists with their own maps and modes are landing. From them, the Nightfall playlist will only feature the Season 2 map Hegental Base that rotates between Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, and Domination modes. The developer recommends that players use night vision goggles or light attachments to see around this extremely dark arena.
Next, those looking for the classic Battlefield experience can play the All-Out Warfare playlist. This comes touting the Conquest, Breakthrough, and Escalation game modes being played across the Contaminated, Hagental Base, Eastwood, and Mirak Valley maps.
Lastly, the Casual Breakthrough playlist has Hagental Base, Contaminated, and Eastwood maps with matches that only house 16 real players and 32 bots.
The Battlefield 6 trial will be available across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The event is happening right as Season 2's second phase begins. Find more details about the complete seasonal update here.
