still1
5 million shipped and should be close to 4 million sold, worst case scenario. Nokia CEO said big screen phones are pointless. seems like he is wrong!! would have Sold more than Lumia phones ever sold. Five is an important number for Samsung's Galaxy Note. It has a 5.3-inch screen and now, just five months since it debuted Samsung has announced it's shipped five million units (the one million mark was crossed right around the end of December). That's certainly long enough for you to decide if you're in love with its super-sized frame or the accompanying S-Pen stylus, but unfortunately it has not been quite enough time for the highly-anticipated Ice Cream Sandwich software update to be released. While the world waits for the Premium Suite of apps and Android 4.0, let's think back to all the good times we had, including its initial unveiling, our original review and finally its arrival in the US on AT&T. So, are you convinced yet that there's a place in the world for a device like this, or five million phablets later are you still thinking this is just a fad? http://www.engadget....st-five-months/ http://www.samsungtomorrow.com/2454

Astra.Xtreme
I'm sure a lot of those people are hoping ICS brings some improvements, because it's a painfully laggy phone. Writing with the stylus is probably the most annoying part. But it does have a really nice screen. capr 1 Share

I used it today, for the first time. Its laggy, but not that much. And its HUGE. I agree about Stylus. I am glad its optional :p

blachole
For some reason I find this hard to believe. I saw one last weekend and was totally turned away from the thing. It seems like a confused device to me. Even the people using it seemed confused.

I believe the general consensus is that the device looks weird at first but hard to let go after, that's what I got from most reviews anyway, most people praise it. Looks great for college students because it's 'pocketable' and you can use it to take. wait for it, notes! Great device imo.

Muhammad Farrukh
I heard the stylus is laggy as hell I didn't quite liked the Stylus. Although its a good thing to have as a side arm, its pretty useless.

JJ_
As an iPhone owner (note not a fanboy), it's quite good to hear. I've always liked Samsung products and it's great for a rival to be doing so well because in the end, good competition benefits the end user. +Majesticmerc MVC Posted March 31, 2012 MVC Share Posted March 31, 2012 I really want one of these, but alas by the time I escape my contract it'll be long out of date. I tried on in the shop and thought it was a great phone. At first I thought it was a bit ridiculous, but I think it'd be great to have around. The stylus would be handy for writing notes too. It'd save me loads of scrap paper in the office. My only concern would be whether it would fit in my pocket, and whether I could get an armband for it when I got running and not have it cut off circulation to my hand :p

capr
If there wasn't a $35 restocking fee, I would return mine. It is big and beautiful but I would have loved it at 5inch instead of 5.3... The pen is useless to me and i never use it, specially since there is no re calibration. You HAVE to use the samsung keyboard if you want to use the pet to write your messages. The lag isn't terrible but is bad. I dumped my laggy iphone 4 for this shiny thing and was hoping it would be better but it's not. Scrolling around is laggy and I often lose signal. I sit next to my sister who has an iphone and she get signal when i don't.... Overall, all the downsides aren't worth the beautiful screen and $300 is too much.
