art hints at return to urban setting.

Crysis 3 has blown its cover. Electronic Arts' Origin.com has posted (and partially pulled) product pages for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions of Crysis 3.

The product page for Crysis 3 shows a Nanosuit-wearing soldier wielding what appears to be an advanced bow and arrow set. The character stands in front of a city environment, hinting that the third entry will return to the urban setting of Crysis 2, instead of the original game's tropical locale.

Neither Crytek nor EA have announced a third entry in the Crysis series, and as of press time, the publisher had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.

Last month, Crytek revealed that it would announce a new AAA title in April. Details were thin at the time, with Crytek general manager Nick Button-Brown saying the title will be a "big budget" game for consoles and PCs.

A third entry in the Crysis series comes as little surprise. Following on from 2007's highly regarded original, Crysis 2 scored a solid critical reception upon its release in 2011, and went on to ship over 3 million units.

While the nanosuited protagonists of the Crysis series owe much of their success to the suit's ability to render them invisible until the precise moment they're ready to strike, publisher Electronic Arts doesn't share that same ability. The unannounced Crysis 3 was accidentally revealed on its own Origin website this morning.

As spotted by NeoGAF, and verified by a quick Google search for "crysis 3 limited edition download origin," EA's Origin download service featured the game on both Xbox 360 and PC; it's unclear if there will be a PS3 version. Accessing the once-live Origin page for Crysis 3 returns a predictable "PRODUCT NO LONGER AVAILABLE" warning.

A NeoGAF poster also discovered a higher-resolution banner image featuring the same compound bow-packing, nanosuit-wearing protagonist as the temporary Origin boxart, further validating the veracity of this leak. The April issue of Swedish gaming mag Game Reactor also appears to confirm the leak, teasing a game with the series' familiar hexagonal pattern.

We've reached out to EA for comment on the game and when we can expect to learn more. In the interim, keep checking Origin?

Update: EA got back to us and didn't play coy! "The best kept secret in shooters just can't be contained. Stay tuned for more information on April 16," the statement reads. Mark your calendars for next Monday, folks.

Earlier today, EA's own Origin game service revealed what looked to be Crysis 3. EA responded and told gamers to stay tuned on April 16.

Crysis 3 is going to be awsome! I hope they don't water it down with all the console crap like in Crysis 2. I also hope it is availible on Steam when released. What do you guys think? Do you you like the idea of a bow?

I don't think they would release it April16th but maybe a trailer or something saying of a release towards November. I haven't finished Crysis 2 yet... prob should get on that! And yes I do agree that the story that Crysis 2 took wasn't one that I was impressed with, I was hoping of a complete timeline follow up from Crysis 1 or Warhead.

Also I'm still on my boycott of EA from how they completely screwed people over with Battlefield3 and forcing Origin up you're butt to play it so not sure I will even continue with the game series.

Is EA the one with the always on internet connection DRM? (IDK I own Crysis via Steam. Have not gotten 2 yet :))Yeah that is BS...

The title is a bit misleading as the game itself has not leaked. they simply (most likely for marketing reasons) put it up a bit early to rile up some free marketing. and they will announce the game later this month. Have to admit I like the idea of the Bow :D

I wonder if they'll have multiplayer and if it will include an actual anti-cheat this time instead of letting people who pirated the game to use key gens to play online and ruin the game.

I don't think you've played many games then.

 I thought the same thing but I decided against saying that.

No. That was Ubisoft. The forthcoming SimCity will require an internet connection at launch, but not while you play.

All my Ubisoft games at least have had 'always on DRM' removed, can't say if they still use it for new titles or not.

Agreed, so "Thread Title Updated"

DL

And pretty much knew this was a given. I have loved all of the Crysis games, even enjoyed the MP of the last one, so looking forward to checking this out no question.

I didnt mean the best in terms of game graphics quality(PS3) or the game story but the concept.

Graphics of C2 was not good on ps3 compared to PC and story line was ok but I love the strategy and tactics you have to use on Crysis 2. Also,Its true I have not played a lot of games on my ps3, about 40 games

water it down? the PC version is amazing. have you run it w/ max settings, DX11 and high res textures? it looks insane!

no steam release. that's why Origin exists now.

Yeah even on medium settings it still looks fantastic!

I definitely agree, in the thinking that it was watered down. It just didn't have the same feel to it that the original.

While it didn't have the same feel as the original, it definitely didn't feel watered down by any means. All of the Crysis games still have a certain feel that makes them unique, IMO. My only gripe with the SP was the AI was a bit dumb at times. They addressed that in later patches, though.

    • Payday TWO!! Is 13 years old man I feel old - I remember trying it out and if I did not know I would say 5-6 years ago or something
    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
