I currently use dropbox for my main files and skydrive for my docs as dropbox doesn't have the on-web doc viewer/editor

if dropbox gained that functionality i'd be full dropbox

I would of thought Ubuntu One would have made the list. I just enable Ubuntu One then forget about it.

However, I don't think I've ever logged in to get files from it; just sits there as a backup.

just because there isn't an Android app doesn't mean it's not cross platform, let me quote my previous post

Sorry, companies don't do hacks. Hacks are proabbly good enough for you, but companies shy away from that. Nice try though.

My company uses Andorid and iPhone. They went with Box because it is secure and offers cross platforms apps.

where the hell are you getting that I'm talking about hacks?!?

if you're talking about the unofficial Android app then ignore that part, even if there wasn't an official/unofficial app for Android, skydrive is still considered cross-platform as it works on more than one OS

you can say it's not all you want, that doesn't make it true

whether or not there's a version of skydrive for android has nothing to do with skydrive being cross-platform

the fact that it works on 3 different OS's is what makes it cross-platform, the only way it wouldn't be cross-platform would be if it worked on Windows and Windows alone

Yes, I understand what you are saying. But you fail to understand what I am saying. There is no platform support for Android (THE MOST POPULAR MOBILE OS IN THE WORLD). If it can't support a popular OS, it isn't a solution any enterprise would ever use.

My enterprise, uses Box because it supports Windows, Android and iOS. What good is calling something crossplatform if it doesn't support the biggest ones. Sure I can support Linux, iOS, OS X and call it Cross Platform, but is it really? For something to be cross platform, it has to at the very least support the most used platforms.

But I don't expect someone like you to ever understand that. It just your nature. It's your nature to be the unofficial cheer squad for Microsoft I guess.

talk about getting your panties in a knot, I was simply disputing your original comment

iCloud and SkyDrive are not cross platform

which is technically wrong about skydrive as it does indeed support more than one OS

whether it supports a big guy like Android has nothing to do with being cross platform. by all terms, cross-platform SIMPLY means that it works on more than one OS, which it does.

i'm not disputing whether or not you should switch from box as that's non of my business and I don't appreciate you attacking me with that last paragraph of yours. I'll have you know, I hardly even use skydrive, I only use it for docs because I like the on-web editor, for everything else I use dropbox.

I don't see why some people find it so hard to just admit they were wrong sometimes, you can't be correct all the time, we are only human after all

Its funny because the person/group you are arguing with think the same about you(Probably need to repeat it at least 5 more times before you understands. )

This is hilarious and fun to watch because both make a fool out of yourself.

Not really. The discussion was whether or not SD is cross platform, not whether or not it supports Android. That was just a complaint that was never part of the topic being debated, which is what had to be repeated over and over again until he finally "understood what he was saying". as per:

It's pretty simple to understand, for most people.

really, because usually a program is considered cross-platform if it works on more than one OS and it seems to me, Skydrive works on 3 OS's officially (Windows, Mac, iOS) and 1 unofficially (Android)

so according to you since there isn't a program for Linux it's obviously not cross-platform? hmm, something in this logic doesn't quite sit right

So it works on Apple and MS platforms. That's nice, but it still doesn't work on any of my devices so it's "cross-platformness" isn't cutting it here.

... what?

taken from Wikipedia page about cross-platform: A cross-platform application may run on as many as all existing platforms, or on as few as two platforms.

and if that's not enough for you http://www.techterms...n/crossplatform

there, there's the facts about what it means to be cross-platform, now can we please end this argument?

Again: it doesn't work on any of the platforms I use, so wether it's technically cross-platform is irrelevant for me as the sevice becomes efectively useless.

Other services like UbuntuOne and specially Dropbox work with almost every device you might have, so I can count on being able to use them everywhere.

Skydrive could be working on every commodore and sinclair spectrum computer out there and I'd still be saying that it doesn't cut it because it doesn't work on any platform I care about.

I'm just gonaa continuing using my Google Docs files on Gladinet Cloud Desktop, (along with my Box.net & Skydrive files,) because it seems to me that the Google Docs files I already had are the same as Google Drive files... I'll also continue using the SkyDrive Windows 8 app too, but, whatever...

(For those that don't know Gladinet Cloud Desktop is like Dropbox except you can use your files from MANY different cloud storage services, (even some obscure ones,) & shows up as an actual drive instead of a folder...)

EDIT: Oh, yeah, & I also use Joli OS' Dropbox, &, well, Google Docs integration too, but, whatever... Speaking of cloud OS', according to here: http://news.cnet.com...t-exactly-free/ at some point Chrome OS is gonaa use Google Drive for file management... personally, I'm starting to think that Chrome OS is slowly moving away from its, "Ubuntu but locked into the Chrome browser," origins & becoming more & more like the aforementioned much superior competitor, Joli OS. Hope Hexxeh, will, err, "improve the improvements..."
