Samsung protesters tell Apple iSheep to "Wake up".

Hmm so calling people sheep is a good way to attract people to their product? I find that offensive and crude that a company can just say that about a group of people who purchased a product so it's had the opposite effect on me.

I will look at all phones apart from Samsung when I look to upgrade later this year.

They didn't actually call them, "sheep," it's just the thread title since they were going after Apple fanboys. Some people call Apple fanboys, "iSheep," hence the title.

actually they did call them sheep.

Apple's Mac vs. PC ads were childish, but they at least did (inaccurate) comparisons and didn't insult the target audience.

The one with all the different Windows Vista versions was pretty spot-on though! God knows that one made me laugh so hard!

PC: Time to play "Choooose a Viiiista!"

[?]

Mac: Macs have just one version with all the stuff you need...

PC: Well that's boring!

Don't be so dramatic. I guarantee you will look at Samsung when you upgrade.

It is for Apple users. That's what samsung is going after.

Apple users ? because everyone who buy an apple product is an apple fan ...

I own an ipod and i'm far from considering it a life style. There's no zune HD here. MS never considered canadian to be important enough to sell them the zune HD. And honestly it's just the best multi function mp3 player where i live.

I can guarantee that Samsung also uses cheap "slave labour" as well.

difference is that samsung uses the labour in their country and not some slave labour across the world to try to save money..

It would be like if samsung had labour factories in Africa.. Apple tries to pretend to be all American and what not but when it comes down to it the majority of their workforce is not in the US at all .

How sad!

Seriously though, Samsung's obsession with Apple is very unhealthy.

I don't get what they are trying to achieve? I mean, if everyone jumped over to the Galaxy line of phones then surely they would become sheep also? It makes no sense to me.

samsung is korean, foxconn is taiwanese... try again?

The interesting (and worrying) thing about this is that its a symptom of how the market dictate people's life.

Brands have become a dogmatic exercise, you just need to take a look at certain members of this board, like Boz (sorry, but it's the true) or any Apple/Android/Whatever fanboy.

first of all I've had it with people like you on Neowin continuing with personal insults. I will report EVERY SINGLE time people who call me stupid, monkey, fanboy or whatever. I have enough courtesy to express my own opinion and not insult any of you and I expect the same from you. Get a grip or grow up or if you can't, don't post.

Second, Apple's whole BRAND is based on class warfare and making their users feel that they are better than eveyryone else. A huge number of Apple's consumers buys Apple's products because they want to be cool and they observe it as a status symbol not primarily based on the merits of the product itself.

Not a SINGLE person I know that uses Android or even Windows Phone buy those devices and products based on their blind following of the brand. Instead they buy products based on the actual value of the product and what it can do, as it should be, unlike huge number of Apple fanbase. And the whole "fanboy" war was started and continuously flamed by Apple and Apple fans, Apple supporting media etc. It is constantly rubbed in everyone else's face how they are beneath Apple users, and how Android users are without tastes, have less money etc..

I am old enough to remember that we never had this stuff in technology. Nobody really hate anyone from consumer side (because nobody cared about corporate affairs between companies or hatred). People were buying and appreciating technology for what it was (specs, productivity, and everyone bought stuff they found valuable about a specific product and fanboyism was only present with the hardcore tech geaks). As soon as Apple came into specific markets, they have created this polarization and hatred and demeaning marketing towards their competitors and what's even worse their competitor's USERS. It's disgusting.

Um... actually that's just a generalization that YOU have...

Apple makes a good product that is arguably better than the rest, so it's more accurate to say that people buy it because it IS a good product. Not because it's cool...

snitch, and that second bolded part is a blatent lie. you do it to me all the time, just that im not a snitch. and when you go around threads posting that forbes article over and over again and only post good news about android and bad news about apple, guess what that makes you? and if you have really had it, maybe YOU should stop posting?

I am old enough to remember that we never had this stuff in technology.

Then you must be very young, because:

Internet Explorer vs Netscape

Nintendo vs Sega

Xbox vs Playstation

CP/M vs MS DOS

Commodore vs Atari

Windows vs Linux

Intel vs AMD

Nvidia vs ATI

And I can go on and on...

Rivalries have always existed in and outside the tech world. And, to be honest, I dont see many apple users in these boards throwing punches at Android. However when someone throws a jab against Apple most of the time it's you.

Um... actually that's just a generalization that YOU have...

It's not arguably better than the rest, because it is better than the rest ! :p

    • Google pitches Spanner as one database for all AI agents with these new featues by Karthik Mudaliar Google Cloud is introducing new features within Spanner, its distributed database, as a place where enterprises should keep their data, using which AI agents could make smarter and better decisions. In a detailed blog post, Google highlighted quite a few features coming to Spanner, including relational data, graph relationships, vector search, key-value access, full-text search, and operational analytics together in one database architecture. Google says that today's systems aren't well-made for AI agents. There could be data that is present in one system, search indexes in another, embeddings in a vector database, and relationship data in a graph database. This fragmentation isn't great for AI agents to do their jobs because they don't have access to all of this data in one place. This is where Google is positioning Spanner as a solution. Spanner is already a globally distributed relational database with strong consistency, and Google wants its customers to see it as a broader data layer for AI applications. The company introduced something called Spanner Graph, along with integrated vector search, full-text search, a Cassandra-compatible key-value endpoint, and a columnar engine for analytical queries on operational data. Google also added that its ScaNN-powered vector search can support indexes with more than 10 billion vectors, while the columnar engine can make some analytical scans up to 200 times faster. All of this isn't just exclusive to the Google Cloud Platform, and there's support for multi-cloud as well. This comes via Spanner Omni, which Google says is a downloadable, containerized version of Spanner that can run on Kubernetes and in environments outside Google Cloud, including Microsoft Azure and AWS, and even on-premises infrastructure as well as edge deployments. Google says that customers who are interested in the full-featured edition should contact the company, and there's no word on commercial availability or separate pricing. Those interested can read the full blog by Google Cloud, which details these features individually.

    • They have lots of info on me, I have a facebook account and have done so for years, it was the thing to have then. My phone number is not on it. I don't have the Facebook app on my phone these days, just the messenger part, and only for a couple of people to contact me, most will text me via SMS or phone. I agree, Meta, like others, even without an account will know something about me. Just have to try and keep some things private Also, never saw the need for Whatsapp, people used to ask for me to join it, but as I said to them, I have SMS and a phone, use that, or email
