If you're concerned about your kids eating healthy then don't take them to McDonalds. It's not like they can drive themselves there and spend the money they don't have. Meanwhile adults actively seek out the most unhealthy meals on the planet--getting their triple cheeseburgers, chili fries, and a large shake multiple times a day. Their kids eat there too and they cry about their children being fat.

You cannot keep children ignorant to McDonalds. You want them to have a job when they are 16 years old to get them out of the house!

McDonalds is a token rather than a culprit. They are no more evil than Wendys, Burger King, KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Dominos, <insert fast food chain here>. They all aim to 'future prospects' They have choices as healthy or as nasty as the other fast food joint - but its FAST FOOD! Its quick, cheap and tastes amazing! McDonalds is open 24/7 nearly everywhere in the world too so its super convenient. I mean there's a LOT of places where you CANNOT get a cucumber at 330 in the morning, but nearly everywhere you can get something full of your whole days worth of cals, carbs and fats.

Maybe they should enforce them to CLOSE their doors to people!

...and if Ronald McDonald is SUCH a spokesperson to kids - why not BUY him - then change his advertisements from promoting McDonalds to promoting healthy food choices AT Mcdonalds or <other healthy restaurant>? Oh? whys that? no other healthy fast chain restaurants exist? hmm..

*scratches head* not many mcdonalds are open 24/7 only high traffic ones stay open that long

If Ronald McDonald actually does cause more kids to want to eat McDonald's, would it be such a bad thing to have fewer kids want to eat McDonald's?

The only thing is that if they want to McDonald's less, are they going to want to eat a salad more? I doubt it. They'll just want to go to BK instead, so this really does nothing.

However, I say Ronald McDonald should be banned based on the simple fact that clowns are scary. :omg:

You guys don't seem to understand the fact that these things actually get to kids whether parents let them or not, the last thing you know they end up going to buy it themselves. It's not only about parenting, society plays a big part on it, but probably most of you don't realize that as you suggest "Oh it's the parents fault", "Oh, you can't control your kids", "Oh, you're a retarded parent". Lets grow up a bit and actually rationalize how these things work on kids for real.

Why do you think companies try to make their awesome commercials on toys? To get their kids attention, so they start begging for it, they don't get it, they go mad. Later, other kids in school start giving your kids ideas, telling them they should be allowed to get what they want if you don't do this or that, they end up doing crazy **** and creating inexplicable messes. Seriously, lets cut it out with the parents, there IS a point here, just like in anything else.

It's not about parents and responsibility. It's about marketing. Which is equivalent of 'hypnosis'.

Really? Cause the last time I checked, my father never bought into the marketing hype nor let me become hypnotized by all of that. It starts with parenting. A real parent will monitor what their kids do and when they are 18, they turn the reins over to them. For my kids, I tell them: while you're in my house, you abide by my rules. When you turn 18 and leave, you can make your choices.

I know they want it. You can still say no. Just like when they ask you for a pony or something else absurd.

and when I was a kid, we could whine, scream, cry, throw a tantrem and we still wouldn't get what we wanted... problem is still parents now days giving in to easily

Through their Value [The] Meal campaign Corporate Accountability International's end goal is basically to kill the fast food industry and to turn them into a bunch of salad bars, they are pro-vegan, which IMO is over the top.

I find the whole Food Police paradigm troubling due to the Law of Unintended Consequences. In a previous campaign CAI pressured McDonalds to include apple slices in Happy Meals and to reduce the fries portion. That's troublesome for parents like a friend of ours whose child is allergic to apples. Also, the proteins found in raw apples are similar to those found in birch pollen, and they will sometimes cross-react with hazelnut (banned along with other nuts in many schools), nectarine, peach, kiwi fruit, carrot, apricot, cherries, pears, plum, celery and soybean. Oops.

You're not forced to select apple slices for the side order. You can pick fries or apples.

In the latest US commercial, they are saying that apples come with the fries in the Happy Meal, but the fry portion looks smaller too.

Until your kid can drive they pretty much eat where you take them. If you choose to take them to McDonald's for 10 meals a week then that is your fault.

Don't be morons.

Agree. Lack of transportation + lack of money = you tell the kids what they're eating, you're the boss, not the children.

The McDonald's qoute "we serve high quality food" give me a break have ya seen there chips. There was some potato I there but evaporated by fat. Burgers are crap, nuggets are that pink chicken paste, I think there chicken strippers are the same to cus it doesn't taste/pull apart like real chicken. Its all full of crap.

So many lazy, terrible ****ing parents out there. Until your kid can drive they pretty much eat where you take them. If you choose to take them to McDonald's for 10 meals a week then that is your fault.

Should scammers be allowed to defraud people because it's the stupid people's own fault for being stupid? Lazy, terrible parents exist. That's a known fact. Should McDonald's be allowed to take advantage of this by promoting their food directly to the kids? Again, I'm not saying that banning the clown is going to change any habits at all, but it's clear that direct promotion to kids works great. That's why they advertise sugary cereals during Saturday morning cartoons.

    • The only reason I want to know where you from is because if you are not from the U.K, then why should you care what we in the U.K do or don't do? Racist I am not, I am fed up with the amount coming over here and feel they can come over here and think we need to support them. Do you know how much it costs this country to support these people coming over here? Even when we give them a place to live it is not good enough. We had a barge that was being used to house immigrants, oh but that was not good enough. A mate said to me at the time, when he was homeless, he would have been happy to live on the barge, instead of ending up sleeping on a bench on the beach. I am not scared to say what my family heritage is, unlike you who is scared to say where they are from or where they live. Father side U.S, mother side Wales, still have family living in the U.S. A mate who sadly died a few years ago, had a load of people from different races recording in his studio, I got on with all of them. Skin colour don't bother me, where they are from don't bother me. Religion don't bother me as long as they don't push it onto me and it is not crazy stuff. I am not religious. But if you are not living in the U.K, then why should you care if we are in the E.U or not? This the problem, too many people poking their noses into where it don't belong. But you believe what you believe, if you think I am racist, then be it, I really do not care. Just grow a pair
    • If he hasn't been able to figure that out, then why is he obsessed with tariffs? Because that's one of the most prominent tools to level the playing field when you have high cost of labor.
    • Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5102558, KB5095615 Setup and Recovery updates by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft released the newest preview update (C-release) under KB5095093. Alongside those, Microsoft also released new dynamic updates. For those who may not know, dynamic updates bring improvements to the Windows Recovery process in the form of Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) updates, which are also called Safe OS updates. The dynamic updates also affect the Setup file binaries in the form of Setup updates. These Dynamic Update packages are meant to be applied to existing Windows images prior to their deployment. Dynamic Updates also help preserve Language Pack (LP) and Features on Demand (FODs) content during the upgrade process. VBScript, for example, is currently an FOD on Windows 11 24H2. This time both recovery and setup updates were released for Windows 11. The company writes: "KB5095186: Safe OS Dynamic Update for Windows 11, version 26H1: June 23, 2026 This update makes improvements to the Windows recovery environment (WinRE). After installing this update, the WinRE version installed on the device should be 10.0.28000.2335. KB5102558: Setup Dynamic Update for Windows 11, versions 24H2 and 25H2: June 23, 2026 This update makes improvements to Windows setup binaries or any files that setup uses for feature updates in Windows 11, version 24H2 and Windows 11, version 25H2. KB5095615: Safe OS Dynamic Update for Windows 11, versions 24H2 and 25H2: June 23, 2026 This update makes improvements to the Windows recovery environment (WinRE). After installing this update, the WinRE version installed on the device should be 10.0.26100.8737." Microsoft notes that both the Recovery and Setup updates will be downloaded and installed automatically via the Windows Update channel.
