Just heard of this search engine called Duck Duck Go, and wondered if anyone here was using it. It looks pretty nice, and its privacy policy is a welcome change. It doesn't track or bubble its users. I'll definitely keep up with it for a while and see what happens.

Personally I don't use it. But I do know of their claim to beat Google with new search features, look here...

Good luck to them!

I've used it several times.

It doesn't flood your results page with adverts and is clean of privacy issues.

Also, it is associated with something called duckduckhack, that is, snippets of a probable result being shown straightaway upon the search.

People seem to like the cleanliness etc.

Of course, the real question is the search results and whether it is able to generate 'em as good as Google or Bing do.

I was using it for a while, however the more specific you get the harder it finds giving you decent results. I've stopped using it for a time at the moment because on half the searches I was doing I had to use Google instead.

Their privacy policy is nice and I will definitely still use it from time to time, but it didn't do enough to stay as my default search engine.

I've tried it out, but.. old habits die hard. My default search engine is Google (as it has been since 1999). It'd take some seriously major ****-ups from the guys in Mountain View, CA for me to switch.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
