Couldn't see an article here about it, so figured I would post it up:

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has launched its new Trinity processor family boasting "twice the performance per watt" of its earlier Llano chips.

Like Intel's rival Ivy Bridge release, the update includes up to four CPU (central processing unit) cores and a single GPU (graphics processing unit).

AMD claims its product offers gamers a superior experience.

Source and more.

I really don't see how there is much of advantage of integrating the gpu onto the CPU other than the smaller form factor...

Well in AMD's case you get a powerful graphics card always there, that uses very little power. and when you're gaming or doing something that needs more power, it won't "just" switch to your main AMD graphics card, it will use botth and up the power of yoru main card intot he next model up.

There will always be integrated and discrete ... I actually do not want integrated inmy desktop .... but on a laptop = win!

So you're saying you don't want your computer to use less power, run quieter and cooler in windows and at the same time for your discrete graphics to be one step more powerful in games ?

I really don't see how there is much of advantage of integrating the gpu onto the CPU other than the smaller form factor...

Its the natural evolution in integrated graphics... Its much better than graphics integrated on the MB chipset.

Smaller form factor, less power usage, better performance.

    • I made a new Cinematic/Trailer for the game, this will be the intro, still a work in progress!  I also updated the Steam page with a ton of new screenshots! 👀 https://store.steampowered.com/app/3925340/Incoherence_Dark_Rooms/
    • Closed-loop cooling and a custom 800G network protocol let the $7.3B campus run as one AI training machine. Microsoft confirmed June 23, 2026, that its Fairwater campus in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is fully operational — and the engineering behind it makes the facility something fundamentally different from every data center that came before it. Where conventional cloud infrastructure racks up general-purpose servers and parcels out workloads to each one independently, Fairwater links hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell GPUs into a single, coherent cluster using a two-story building design, 800-gigabit-per-second Ethernet fabric, and a proprietary networking protocol co-developed with OpenAI and NVIDIA. The result, according to Microsoft, is the closest thing to a purpose-built AI supercomputer that any company has ever placed in commercial operation. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319205/20260627/microsoft-opens-fairwater-wisconsin-ai-campus-runs-one-supercomputer-via-800g-ethernet.htm
