A day after taking his company public and raising his wealth to more than $19 billion, Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg married his longtime girlfriend.

The 28-year-old entrepreneur posted the news on his Facebook timeline Saturday evening, adding a life event reading "Married Priscilla Chan."

Chan and Zuckerberg -- who, based on the photo he posted, wore a suit jacket at the wedding rather than his usual hoodie -- had been dating since the early days of Facebook. They met as Harvard students and have been together more than nine years, according to the Associated Press.

Fewer than 100 people attended the wedding, and those guests arrived under the impression that they would be celebrating Chan's recent graduation from UC San Francisco's medical school, according to a tweet from a Huffington Post editor.

The wedding was held in the backyard of Zuckerberg's Palo Alto, Calif., home.

Chan's ring featured only a "very simple ruby," a source authorized by the couple to speak told the AP.

The wedding capped a busy week for Zuckerberg.

His birthday and Chan's graduation from medical school were both Monday, and on Friday, he rang the Nasdaq Stock Market's bell from Facebook headquarters in California on his company's first day of trading on the public market.

Facebook's shares were priced at $38 Thursday and got off to a hot start Friday, opening at $42.05. They briefly shot up to $45 but traded around the $40 mark for most of the day before closing at $38.23.

has nothing to do with who uses what. This just isnt news, and i doubt anyone gives a damn who this guy married, or whats going on in his personal life.

its not news, and its not front page/headline news.

*Sigh* The world does not revolve around you and your interests. Please realise that. Many of us are interested in the lives of our idols and favourite people. That is why there are many websites dedicated to news about public figures. I was interested in this news. If it's news to some people, it is news.

exactly what i thought. she is far from being hot.

So you think he should marry a supermodel? Considering she's been with him since 2003, and Mark went to China with her a few years ago, she's only in it for the money? Yes, we've seen celebrity marriages where either one is only in it for the money, but let's hope for the best for these two, alright?

As for being hot, sometimes love doesn't have to be all about looks.

Can't really say that I find this big news either, but I would expect that any famous technological related persons being married would hit at least bpn. The fact that Mr Z has been heavily publicised this week probably brings it to fpn. Its meant to be something happy, something to make people smile (?), though people turn it into a bashing fest in some respect or another. Gawd people.

Congrats to the guy.

Exactly. Man, some of you are stupid. If you marry a girl just because she's hot, chances are your marriage *will* only last a few years.

    • If I could, I would commemorate it the best way possible: Replacing old machines that are still running Windows XP with something more modern, stable and better.     Noone and nothing should be running Windows XP in 2026.
    • Google's new hand-wave reCAPTCHA can be bypassed with a stock photo by Ivan Jenic Image: Screenshot Google is testing a new reCAPTCHA method that asks you to wave at your camera to prove you're human. So, besides solving puzzles and reading distorted text, you can now use your computer’s camera to pass the verification test. When the hand gesture verification is triggered, your browser asks for camera access and prompts you to perform a simple gesture, like a wave or an open palm. Google says it records a short video of the movement and uses AI to extract 21 hand-knuckle coordinates to complete the verification process. The video is then immediately deleted, and Google swears it doesn't keep it. The process alone can be uncomfortable for people who wouldn’t want their biometric data, which hand scans technically qualify as, recorded. But it gets even more nuanced, as early testers discovered that the new hand-waving reCAPTCHA can be passed with a simple stock image. A user on X tested the new challenge using a stock image of a hand fed through OBS Virtual Camera, and it passed. I wanted to verify it, so I tried the same thing. It took me a few tries and a few stock images, but in the end, I was also able to pass the test. I simply had to readjust the stock image of a generic person waving inside OBS, and Google’s mechanism registered it as a legitimate hand gesture. Once again, it didn’t even have to be a video or an AI-generated hand animation. Given the simplicity of the process, the entire action can be automated in minutes. All it takes is a simple Python script to render the new reCAPTCHA method obsolete. And it doesn’t even have to be an AI bot, which is usually used for solving puzzles and other verification methods. The new reCAPTCHA method is still in its early phase, and Google will, hopefully, update its AI to at least reject still images. However, this incident, combined with users’ initial skepticism about Google’s practices regarding user data, likely won’t make too many people wave at the camera anytime soon.

    • Apparently not. I know it is on Edge for business at the moment, but how long will it be before it become on the home version of Edge?
