As a guest viewing Neowin we place very few restrictions on the site.
Guests may:
- Search the forums (although flood control is enabled).
- View embedded images in topics.
However, we hide many of our (non tech related) "off-topic" forums, to make the site "work safe" and guests may not take part in giveaways (a comment in the giveaway article is
always required).
Registering offers the following:
- Fewer ads.
- Off topic forums.
- Can comment on news articles.
- Participation in giveaways.
So while registration isn't required and the site isn't crippled for guests, registering offers a few additional benefits.
