Longhorn is the stepping-stone to what Blackcomb is SUPPOSED to be. Think of it this way (will sound pretty odd, bear with me): Windows NT 3 is like Columbus sailing to the New World. (Timeline: 1492). Windows NT 4 is like the Civil War. (1776). Windows 2000 is like the first spacecraft ever launched (Sputnik) (1957-ish) Windows XP is like man going to the moon (hence, "Luna" ) (1969) Windows 2k3 is like today --- a LOT of refinement over 1969 but pretty much the same basic principles as then. Longohrn is like man going to Mars (2017 projected -- more like 2027) and finding the remnants of a civilization. Blackcomb is like man going to Jupiter and finding the monolith...then using it. Why would MS put much effort into BlackComb right now when they are working on and an allready delayed Longhorn? ...Did I make any sense at all?
