Got any plans for it?

Initially was thinking of making a tiny media centre from it that could stick to the side of any tv, would need to find a compatible usb wireless drive for it though

Not really sure yet, maybe a take anywhere PC, thats why I made the thread to get some ideas :)

Have not gotten my email yet :(

But that clear case looks like crap imho, I like the black better.

I am not sure exactly what I will do with mine yet, but one of the projects will be a replacement for my starting to get a bit old popcorn hour a110.

Mine was at the US site, just looked at email got back when registered and it was dated

Had mine for about a month. Until video drivers have been developed it runs a bit like treacle, not that I'm surprised I expected it, earlier adopters are really beta testers and I knew that when I bought it. But because of this I doubt you'll be using it as a media centre in the immediate future, it will work but the experience won't be pleasant even browsing the web brings it to its knees.

As for cases, because it has connectors on every side it really limits how they are designed so there aren't really that many choices (well there are but many are basically the same). I personally wouldn't choose an open one.

You'll also likely find that you'll end up wanting/needing a powered USB hub, practically any add on takes too much power and makes the system unstable. If you do then get a decent amperage one and the PSU can power both the hub and the pi.

Last thing I presume you've read not to use anything above a class 4 sd card, 10's almost definitely won't work.

What are you using?

Using RASPBMC, i can play 1080 mkvs, which a p4 machine i haev struggles to play!

I like that one Detection - going to have to see if can find that a US company, or if they ship to US without too much hassle ;) That is once I get the Pi ;)

I have a class 10 SD card and it works fine running the latest Debian release. I think it was a problem with the earlier releases of Debian only.

      All I can say is that think the USB G8 is better in many ways, and costs the same or slightly less. I wouldn't part with mine. It's even a big improvement over the G6 USB. (You can also use studio phones (up to 600 OHMs I think) with the G8, but I have to say that even relatively cheap 30-50 OHM phones sound absolutely great--far better than through most internal motherboard sound!)       I missed this when you first posted it, but those are awesome icons! I would normally prefer things to be uniform, but each of those icons seems to fit perfectly for the game! If I may ask though, what was your thought process on which icons are circular - MK makes sense - and which ones should be rectangular or square?

      What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact. Also, the clipping tool comes in handy, as well (hit print scrn on the keyboard and it activates immediately.)

      I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output! Memories...
