Chrome toke the crown :D

Edited by Ci7

Its too soon to kill XP support..... Glad I am a nvidia guy

Too soon? It's 11 years old :s

I don't think anyone would use a Linux or Mac OS version this old, so why stick with a Windows this old?

uhh 30 percent is more users then linux and nvidia/ati still support linux.... Its all about logic.... not about age.. I bet linux isnt even 1 percent of that 30 percent

would seriously buy say HD 7970 to plug it in XP PC

not sure when the would make the cut , as i said it is unofficial beta driver of catalyst 12.8 (driver v9)

in august of this year perhaps

Why dont you want to upgrade?

love i am more upgraded then you I got a ivy bridge windows 7 this does mean since i am updated doesnt mean i cant think logical and think windows xp should still be supported.... More people are using it then linux

Someone who likes to play older games as well as new ones? I am not aware of a game that requires windows 7 to play it...... I remember there being a game that required vista when it came out but that company quickly went bankrupt

Why does it matter ?

I'll proudly be in the 1% :D

it does , since you posted ;)

but we are the 99 percenter then!!! screw xp elite haha

i guess you are refer to hellgate: London

the game is still not quite dead

still you have CC 12.6 , don't believe the new card are supported in xp anyway

Well duh. Windows 7 ships on every new PC. It was only a matter of time.

However, as the desktop PC market stagnates/shrinks, the Windows OS will become less important to OEM's. Even now, Microsoft is really the only one making lots of money out of the desktop market. OEM's have very thin margins and are struggling to survive. Windows 8 could be the straw that broke the camel's back for them.

Linux is still being developed. XP isn't.

If OEMs stopped releasing crap they might not have so many problems :) They did this to themselves.

This is the unofficial drivers he's talking about I think (the ones from Benchmark3D forum). The official AMD drivers continue to support Windows XP. The unofficial drivers were started because AMD isn't going to do monthly releases. The unofficial ones won't also be WHQL certified.

1) If you did indeed have a HD 7970, you'll want to be be playing DX10 and DX11 games. These are Vista/7 only.

2) I presume you're referring to Halo 2 for Vista, which was Vista-only - and I don't think Microsoft/Bungie went bankrupt...

You really are clueless, mate :s

I call bs since we just put ~50,000 XP computers online last week alone. Just a little refurb project for poor folk, if you need to know; I've mentioned it before. And no it's not pirated. And anyway, XP still has until 2014 you guys can 'wish' all you want too and pull polls and graphs out your ass all you want too.

Cool. I agree. use XP while it's still support. It's still usefull for pretty much everything but DX 10 / 11 games. So what are those poor people going to do with their XP machines in 2 years?

This alone should show how much nonsense StatCounter is.

http://www.netmarket...=10&qpcustomd=0

Looks far more realistic...

Yet people swear by the gods that StatCounter is better for measuring browser share.

butthurt much, eh?

netmarketshare is the flawed.

Wait, what..?

netmarketshare is the flawed.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how does what you've linked prove that it is flawed? Are you trying to say that Wikimedia is the central hub of internet visits? A site that isn't even accessible from all countries..

Did you actually bother to read the table on that page or just link the pie chart? Did you notice how Wikimedia can vary wildly from StatCounter percentages? >.<

if you checked the table in the link

you would notice XP share of netmarketshare is inflated compared to other sources

post-254628-0-86761000-1340577654_thumb.

and also the pie above take account of non-desktop shares

iphone/ipad/Android

which statscounter show only desktop shares

which is the main difference

if you checked the table in the link

you would notice XP share of netmarketshare is inflated compared to other sources

You would also notice that StatCounter and Wikimedia also vary, ESPECIALLY for mobile by vast amounts. Again I ask what are you trying to prove? The data YOU brought forth proves that StatCounter is flawed.

Also, last I checked China didn't allow access to Wikipedia, something that NetMarketShare has explicitly stated they count. So again, the XP share makes more sense on NetMarketShare than Wikimedia.

and also the pie above take account of non-desktop shares

Considering we're talking about desktops, how is that a good thing exactly..?

Actually, StatCounter does have a mobile graph, but what does that have to do with this thread?

    • Fire and rehire. Doubt the work contracts are as favourable. Smart tactic using AI to do it legally.
    • > And, of course, it includes in-game purchases. Sigh.. of course it does. I just don't understand why anyone would want to play this on PC, when the far superior AoE 2/DE exists. Just kill this with fire already. Or a trebuchet.
    • Normally you'd just want to use Ventoy, but Rufus is handy when: - Ventoy doesn't work (some BIOSes can be weird) - You're mainly interested in creating a single Windows live USB and not interested in a multi-boot / Linux USBs - You want to automate your Windows installations (Rufus supports creating/injecting an autounattend.xml file which fully automates a Windows install). You can do this with Ventoy as well, but it requires a bit more of an effort. Also worth nothing is that both automatically bypass Windows 11's artificially imposed restrictions (TPM, CPU etc).
