+InsaneNutter MVC Posted July 17, 2012 MVC Share Posted July 17, 2012 I have given XBMC for Android a test drive on both my Galaxy Nexus and Asus Transformer Prime, for an early build it runs pretty well. Plugins such as the BBC iPlayer, Ted Talks and YouTube all work. SD Video is perfect, 720p drops a few frames / gets jerky every couple of seconds and 1080p video is very jerky. Most of the functionality of XBMC is there it, it just need optimising for touch displays and the hardware inside Android phones / tablets. I dont believe there is any hardware acceleration for video playback yet.
