This looks cool, is it better than Plesk Parallels Desktop or would you say VMware Fusion is better? Also can you store VM disks on another hard drive for OS's?

VMware Fusion is a lot cleaner whereas Parallels apparently relies on hacking the system to get things done, which can cause major instabilities system-wide. I also helped quite a few people with their Parallels Guest PCs going corrupt for no apparent reason. And before the "I haven't experienced any issues"-crowd comes in: Good for you. You're lucky.

Parallels is $30 more expensive than VMware Fusion, $80 vs $50 respectively. For that $80 you get software that pushes ads. Crazy. Personally I've seen better performance with VMware Fusion and virtually no issues. I haven't come across any other people who needed assistance with VMware Fusion either. It just seems to work.

That said I don't really know if they really improved Parallels lately, but I've seen too many problems with their software in the past. Long store short: I don't trust them and I hate seeing ads in software I paid good money for.

PS VMware Fusion 5 now also supports OpenGL in Linux, which means you get the full desktop experience.

Have both and they, 7 and 4 respectively, seem about the same to me. Where VMware wins is that you can pull a VMWare backup off our backup server and fire it up in Fusion - great for a quick file recovery or testing installs before they go live. Worth every penny to me.

Got VMware Fusion 5, going to be using it to test my C# applications in Windows with it so I no longer need boot up my windows machine. I must say it looks extremely to use and I like how I can place the VM images on another hard drive easily too! Looks like I am going to be taking this iMac up to 16GB memory soon.

Using it since it launched and I?m very pleased so far ;) It?s faster than VMware Fusion 4 and it supports my Retina MBP very well under Windows 7 (my boot camp gaming partition).

Some small visual bugs in 3D applications/games as you can see on my Diablo 3 screenshot, but it?s not a big deal ;)

    • Limited Prime Day deal sees Amazon Echo Show 11 is at its lowest price yet by Ivan Jenic The Amazon Echo Show 11 is currently $149.99 on Amazon during Prime Day, down from $219.99. That's 32% off and $70 saved on Amazon's newest mid-size smart display (purchase link below). As its name suggests, the Echo Show 11 features a 11” Full-HD touchscreen, which is a decent upgrade over the Echo Show 8. It offers 60% more viewing area, which makes a genuine difference for recipes, calendars, video calls, or any other scenario where the smaller display can feel a bit cramped. The Show 11 is built around Alexa+, Amazon's more capable AI assistant that can handle natural conversation. You can make reservations, order groceries, and find content based on your preferences, instead of always having to give it precise commands. There’s also the Omnisense technology, which adds ambient awareness, allowing the device to trigger routines based on temperature, presence detection, or visual cues. Smart home control is built in without needing a separate hub, and the home screen doubles as a photo slideshow when not in use. Taking all of this into account, the Show 11 is a perfect smart addition to your kitchen counter or living room. At $149.99, this is a strong Prime Day buy for anyone already in the Amazon ecosystem or looking to build one out.
