A Port St. Lucie man says he learned a valuable lesson in gun safety after his stolen gun was secretly returned—with a disturbing message.

Mike Maisonneuve told local police that a gun with bullets and a knife were stolen from his unlocked car in his driveway, WPBF-TV reports.

But when he started to go back into his house, he noticed a bag next to the door with words scrawled on both sides.

One side read: LOADED GUN unlocked car = STUPID!!

The other side read: LOTS of children in area.

Inside the bag were his gun and the knife. But no bullets.

Seen this on another forum, dumb ass shouldn't leave things like that in a car. I would never dream of it because how the social climate is today.People will steal your car or your things out of your car in a second these days.

I thought the note was going to say something like "Took your gun, killed someone, enjoy jail"

The guy is an idiot, no doubt about that. He also got lucky, this time.

Well he got a warning this time, what happens if the fool does something like this again? It would be darn right funny if the thief who 'borrowed' the gun did something like this again to the same guy (assuming he leaves the car unlocked again)

Never and small percentage must be indistinguishable to you.
