Are fingerprint readers dead? I have one on my laptop but the software maker doesn't support their software anymore so it doesn't work. I wanted to get one for my next PC (desktop) ... but it seems that it's a dead technology. I can't find any! Did it just not catch on? Anyone know of a product that works?

It seems to be mostly dead since it didn't really provide much in the way of security. I could log into your machine with a piece of tape...
