Atlanta man surprised with water bill over $62,000

Recommended Posts

Kenny Price was shaking his head when he received a $62,823.21 water bill. :|

The Atlanta resident says his water bills are normally $60 to $80, so the jump was astronomical.

Even when the water main to the house was shut off, the dial on the meter cycled completely around approximately every 45 seconds.

Price hired a plumber who could not find a leak to explain the missing 1.2 million gallons of water.

After Price's complaints, an Atlanta Department of Watershed Management worker checked the meter and found nothing wrong, but later a spokesperson said they would investigate the matter further.

Utility companies are scammers. I remember reading a thread where some guy switched all his cooking to a BBQ pit where he intended to save a ton of money from his gas bill. An employee from the utility company said they needed to "fix" his power meter and he ended up paying 3x more after the "fix"

Yeah funny that, we had to have our old spinning power box replaced with a digital one 3 years ago or so, as soon as they did that our electricity bills for the year almost trebelled.
