Windows 8 Apps Not Loading

Howdy,

So I upgraded to Win8 Pro today, ran the WinUpdates have a resolution higher than 1024x768 and the built in apps don't load. Click on Mail the animation full screens then closes, same with Calendar/Photos/Travel/Store/People/Weather etc.

I've restarted etc and still no joy. No settings to set in the apps as they open and close.

I had exact same problem in the end I did a refresh of windows 8 which is a new recovery option. Unfortunately it fixed my windows 8 apps but removed all my desktop apps thus defeating the point of doing an upgrade and not a clean install

Thanks, it worked wonders - and of course it wiped pretty much everything, but completely working and customising now.

Opening command prompt and doing this would have saved you a lot of trouble..

net stop wuauserv

* Back to the desktop - Delete C:\windows\SoftwareDistribution

net start wuauserv
