Some research report by "Javelin Strategy" cost $1500 to download and it's supposed to explain how QR codes and Passbook will become the largest mobile wallet overnight. I haven't heard of much use of Passbook other than with Starbucks. Think the $1500 is worth it for me to download?

Capitalism needs rail guards if it's going to survive! We're already in the middle of the end of the era!
Your argument is that if someone has enough money to buy out someone that has the smarts, that should be allowed. And if the indie developer doesn't capitulate they should be dragged through the courts for a period of time whereby they cannot afford the costs and give in to save them financial hardship.
That's pretty screwed up, and I don't agree with it. The DMA tries to make sure it doesn't happen.
