A would-be mugger got more than he bargained for when he tried to rob an elderly man who had just used an ATM machine in Almere on Sunday morning, the Telegraaf reports.
The 78-year-old victim turned out to be a martial arts expert who delivered a few kicks to his attacker and threw him to the ground several times using judo throws, the paper said.
Other passers-by joined in, including an off-duty police officer, and the 23-year-old was taken to the local police station where he is said 'to be known' to the authorities.
