win8 doesnt install tried everything

I have read every comment and the only thing comes to my mind is that your ISO is corrupt. Check the hash/sda and compare to the real one!

That could be the problem!!

i Checked it with HASh

& downloaded 2 Times.

Still the Same problem

Just to Check its working, i installed it on my Freinds laptop & there Windows 8 booted up perfectly

Not sure this even works, but I think that there may be a hardware conflict with your laptop. So I'd say take your hard drive out, plug it into a computer and install Windows 8 on it then put the hard drive back in the laptop.

I've never done that so I have no idea if an OS installation is specific to a certain computers hardware/processor ID or something.

Just an idea. Maybe someone else could say if that would actually work or not.

Download memtest86

http://www.memtest86.com/

Burn to CD and boot from it. Run the memory diagnostic and let us know if you get any RAM errors.

So we can rule out corruption problems. Id RAM is faulty, anything you download is going to end up corrupted.

Next logical step is to perform full surface scan of your primary hard disk and check for bad sectors.

Hi i have ACER ASPIRE v5-431 laptop.

i have installed Win 7, ubuntu, xp, vista.

But when i try to install Windows 8, it just doesnt install.

it gives me following error :

4t7rxe.jpg

i Tried everything.

i performed a Clean install {deleted all partitions & installed on a new partition}

i even used ACER just UPGRADE ASSISTANT.

But still all in vain

The OS doesnt install.

i tried freaking 15 times just trying to install that OS but still it just doesnt install.

Can anyone pls help me out how can i install this OS ?

Have you gone to Acers site and downloaded their windows 8 "preparation" tool to run first. it can in fact do the whole install if you have the iso/install files, or you can just run it and at the end when it gets to the actual install go out of it, run the MS installer, and after Win8 installs run the acer tool again, to install all drivers.

their tool will prepare your computer for win8, including running Bios updates if necessary, which it did on my V3

i Will try that tool out,

But if there is any fault with The RAM, then how would win 7, ubuntu, xp & vista work ??

Here are my HDD Test results :

i'Ve already tried it & its not working

coz i coudnt find any Windows "preparation tool" on acer site.

Can u pls give me a link ??

I haven't had any problems with Acer support, not at work when it's faster for me to handle service cases with them directly instead through our own service desk. or when I sent in my new V3 for dead usb ports, unusually for a support the guy figured out I knew what I was talking about right away and just fixed a return right away.

Try what everyone else is saying first. My 2 hunches are: 1st. if nothing else works then there may be a piece of hardware that Windows 8 needs that your PC doesn't have. 2nd. It may be an OEM BIOS thing which means that you may have to call the PC manufacturer of your PC or MB maker and see if they have a specific BIOS that will allow you to install Windows 8. Some OEMs want you to buy through them and some OEMs do this to force you to buy another computer in hopes you buy from them again. I have a friend that has the same problem and never pursued and just kept Windows 7. Lastly, I would if you have an OEM partition; then Id keep that partition for a safety net.

Well I have an Acer Aspire 5333. Windows 8 installs just fine so I don't know why it isn't installing for you. Maybe one part that's inside your computer is missing that Windows 8 requires. So looks like you're gonna have to find the part that Windows 8 needs.

buddy u Are staying in Norway.

m in India.

Indian ACER support is just pathetic, worst then u can even imagine.

The time customer waits on thier customer care no. is more then half hour.

Even after that the agents dont know the solution, they just keep you waiting.

Service center locations on their site are all false & have closed ages ago.

When i finally found 1 Service Center, they told me to pay even when the laptop was in warranty.

What part of "its probably your memory" is hard to understand. How many times are people going to have to mention it before you download memtest86

buddy i downloaded it & ran

i ran normal as well as extended tests for 6-7 passes.

& it dint found any error

His BIOS is at the latest version. He has no need to update it. I need to update mine though, I'm at 1.09 and I need to upgrade it to 1.10 and then I'll be at the latest version. I do know one thing, Acer's Download servers suck. On every single download I would get a 5mb's per second but with Acer's Download Servers, It's only downloading at 40-50 kb's a second.

Look at the Acer site for the model in question, there's several Bios' versions out there. so he might have the "latest" and not the "right" one, especially since the are different ones for windows 8, including UEFI bios'.

Well I think the latest BIOS, 1.10 is a UEFI based bios.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Usually a hardware issue or a driver issue in my experience (or boot sector virus).

I've found using their other FTP servers in other countries actually download faster than the normal US server. It used to be the same way with Realtek when downloading HD Audio Codecs.

If you have another windows on your machine, you can look into the drive, win8 on installation starts a folder at the root, BT~ something (couldn't remember because I removed it after install); in it there's a panther folder and something like setup log and setuperr, which are text files - maybe you could get a hint there.

If you seek help from MS, they will ask you to send over the panther folder, whoch also includes you machine specs, and try to diagnose what had went wrong.

THANK U EVERYONE.

i Finally managed to install Win 8 on my Laptop.

i Still dont know what the error was or how the error was created.

i Ran the Setup in wiNdows 7 of windows 8.

Then it asked to keep Everything or nothing, i selected Everything.

& then the process went smoothly.

& finally i have Win 8 running without any error.

i also installed all the drivers of Win8

i Dint require any tool whatsoever to do this.

But i still dont understand few things

After instAlling , when i try to install it once again from BIOS on a new drive it once again gives me the same error.

What is it that is causing this problems, still.

That it can only be fixed by UPGRADING & not by ClEAN install ???

PLS Guyz shed some liGht & help

Just in case someone comes along with a similar issue, sees this and attempt it....

OS installations don't work this way. At least not as simple as that. When you install Windows, the installation process loads drivers and files for your specific hardware. It was a good suggestion, just not one that actually works.

    • Microsoft kills AI-powered history search feature in Edge by Usama Jawad In June 2025, Microsoft began rolling out AI-powered history search functionality with Edge 138. The idea was simple: allow customers to use natural language phrases and synonyms to find their desired history items rather than matching keywords exactly. Although the company had already rolled out this capability in a phased manner, it has now decided to cancel it. In an update on its Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Microsoft has announced that it has decided not to move forward with AI-powered history search. The company has not detailed the exact reasoning behind this move, but it has apologized to customers for the inconvenience. The move is rather interesting as it seemingly could have improved user productivity. Edge users wouldn't have to worry about typos or exact keywords, and just focus on what they were trying to locate in their browser history. Microsoft had also assured users that an on-device AI model would be leveraged for this functionality, and no data would be sent to the cloud. IT admins also had the ability to control its availability through the EdgeHistoryAISearchEnabled policy. When the feature began rolling out last year, many of our readers called it creepy, noting that they couldn't trust Microsoft to keep their data on their device. Others also questioned its usefulness, saying that it's simply a way for Microsoft to insert more AI bloat into its products. Although the Redmond tech giant had stated that it will be more mindful about surfacing Copilot features in Windows 11 apps, we later discussed how this is mostly a rebranding exercise rather than an actual axing of AI functionalities. Indeed, a Microsoft executive later emphasized how they want to reshape Windows for the agentic AI era. That said, it does seem like at least AI-powered Edge history search isn't a part of that vision.

    • Not likely, of course, that we will see routine citizenship checks as they only involve compliance with existing federal voting laws already on the books for decades. This seems a non-issue entirely. Only fools would have the government rush headlong into an AI program few can understand or predict, or even debug...
