Hey guys, I'm hoping you could help me out with picking out a new headset for my PC. I've currently got a Creative Fatal1ty headset, and while it's been a great set, it's getting a bit old now. My budget is £70 max. I know this isn't going to get me top of the line gear, but as far as I'm willing to go for headphones.

Looking around, the Razer Carcharias looks to be most popular, but I was wondering what alternatives you guys were using.

I only have one limitation, no USB headsets. I tried the Corsair Vengeance 1500, and returned it because of static. I couldn't tell if this was because of the headset being faulty, or if it was because of interference from the USB connection, but I'd prefer analog jacks anyway.

Thanks!

I'd recommend the Steelseries Siberia V2 personally. A smidge over your budget at £74.21 (as of this post). There are plenty of good choices out there but this is one that I recommend and own. :)

Another thought occurs. Is there value in simply buying some headphones and a separate attachable mic? I was looking at a pair of Sennheiser HD 215 headphones and one of these Zalman microphones to attach.

I just recently picked up a pair of Plantronics GameCom 780
http://www.plantroni...uct/gamecom-780

They're very nice. While the build quality is a bit cheap. They're not cheap on where it counts, the audio quality, it is excellent and the surround sound is surprisingly good.
You can get them from amazon for £40 too, which is a bargain. Might be worth looking into them.
