I am trying to help a user with her computer that keeps popping up to renew her Windows Defender program. When I open the Task Manager it shows that the task is NotificationDlg and when I go to the associated process it's something like cass.exe which allows the Windows Defender to run in the background and protect the computer.

The problem is that the user doesn't want to go with her other paid subscription with AVG untill the 11 days runs out with Windows Defender but at the same time she wants the Total Defender Anti-Virus Renewal Pop-up Notice to not pop-up.

Is there anyway this can be done...and if so how?

Windows Defender doesn't have any type of renewal or pop-up like that. It sounds like that computer is infected with one of those FakeAV malware apps.

Total Defender is not WIndows Defender.

Total Defender is itself a 'parasite'. It's a fake antivirus package that screws with the system. You need to get that system cleaned ASAP.

Which OS is she using? There's no tag to let us know...

Actually looking back it's a notification for Windows Defense; it's windows 7.

Same advice. Windows Defense is not Windows Defender.

It is the same type of parasite. So getting rid of it ASAP still applies.

Find and Delete NotificationDlg, cass.exe -- or try running Ad-Aware:

You can always delete AA later if you don't like it on the PC.
