Law firm opens Boston office to cash in on medical marijuana

Colorado-based law firm Vicente Sederberg LLC has opened a Boston office, drawn here by the opportunity to serve clients interested in vying for one of 35 state licenses to be awarded to medical marijuana dispensaries.

The firm plans to hold a seminar Thursday in Cambridge to educate would-be medical marijuana entrepreneurs and potential patients about different facets of the law including ?applying for, opening and running a medical marijuana business including sharing best practices from Colorado and other states," according to a news release.

The seminar will take place at the Cambridge Community Center from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will include a presentation from a former Massachusetts state trooper who is part of an organization called Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. The law enforcement presentation is designed to educate potential patients about how to ?respectfully assert their legal rights during law enforcement encounters," according to the release.
