numbers can't be copyrighted spy beef, hence why the ps3 key couldn't be taken off digg.com as it isn't illegal to paste numbers and letters on the internet to sony's annoyance.

But it could be against forum rules. Just like saying letters spelling out a link to a torrent is not illegal as they are just letters , but I'm sure id get banned for it.

Just saying.

On the plus side it should help Wii U Sales. I always wait until I can hack the crap out of a system before I buy it.

@marcan42 just tweeted: Pro tip: 40 character hex strings are usually SHA1 hashes, not encryption keys.

He is the guy who found out the clock speeds and cache of the wii u a few days ago.

Indeed, there are usually some fun homebrew things to do with a console that doesn't involve pirating games. My daughter's original Wii has a few applications on there that she uses never mind dumping her games to a hard drive, even older original XBox still running XBMC in a spare bedroom, etc.

Well, that worked out nicely, Nintendo...

Oh God, I'm so desperately waiting for the day consoles are free from the need to do all that jazz.

Also, I hope that in future emulation of current consoles (and ongoing) will be possible again.
AFAIK there are no 360 and PS3 emulators, which is sad, because one day those consoles will break and you might still want to play those games (exclusives that never made it to the PC platform).

But it's all against honest customers, for the sake of pseudo-limiting the bad folks.
Meh...

Rant over.

Lol! That was cracked very fast. Developer 3DS consoles made it out into the wild and yet nothing has came from it, in a few weeks the Wii U has it's master retail key dumped and posted...

How long did it take to hack the original Wii? Thought it was only a few months.

Not sure, but yeah, that was definitely a speedy hack.

I would like it very much if the Wii U was hacked. I own a Wii U Deluxe set you know. I would like to be able to get games from the e-shop for free.
