Very sad news.

Bless him, his humor and character was incredible. This man led an interesting life, he even made music with Einstein. :)

RIP Gamesmaster

Who is he?

Read his Wikipedia page but nothing worth noticing that really catches the eye.

I first knew him as the Games Master, later on I knew him as a man of the stars. I always had time for his shows, he was a true gent.

Inspired millions of people to take an interest in astronomy/science with an amazingly accessible TV show. Wrote something like 40 books on the subject and mapped some of the moon which was later used to plan the moon landing.

He also flew in the RAF during WW2 and met both Albert Einstein and Orville Wright and has the longest running TV show with the same presenter. A huge loss.

Can someone change the stupid thread tagline please? Sir Patrick Moore was a world famous ASTRONOMER. Calling him an astrologer is an insult!

RIP Sir Pat. I met you a couple of times, you were an amazing guy (and a demon on the xylophone!)
