Keep 360, or banish it to craigslist?

Recommended Posts

A few days ago I jumped on a deal for a used 250gb 360 slim for $142. Hasn't gotten here yet, but it was too good of a price to pass up. I did it without thinking, and now I'm realizing that it has pretty much the exact same games as my PS3 with exception to exclusive shooters, which I don't even like. I bought a 12 month Gold Card and Forza Horizon which I really want to play, but other than that, I can't find any games that make me want to keep the system.

I'm a fan of JRPGs, and pretty much the only exclusive it has is Tales of Vesperia. The other majority are also available on PS3. Besides JRPGs, I like racing, fighting, and sidescrollers/adventure like Donkey Kong and Mario. It's not looking good for this 360, is it? Haha.

If any of you have any good recommendations for 360 exclusives that aren't shooting games, I'd love to hear them so I don't have to go through the trouble of selling it.

So you buy a console then go out and buy a 12 month card and game and then go on a forum lookin for reasons to keep it?? Not sure if trolling or slow.

Except for the part that he says it wasn't until AFTER he bought it, he realized the titles were basically the same as his PS3. Not sure if trolling or incapable of reading (or slow?).

I would say keep it. But that's because I want one ;) Haha

Oh ok I forgot the ps3 and 360 are new consoles. If only they were out for 10ish years he could have known that.

Me too, they make an excellent door stop :D

Honestly though, you might want to have a poke in the xbox live arcade section. Trials HD is pretty good, also beat hazard from the indie market place is nice if you have music on your xbox or home network.

But it does look like the xbox simply isn't the desired console for you. Different regional markets and games mostly with your jrpg stuff.

What a completely ridiculous statement. You're assuming someone should know what titles are available for a console they don't even own? Lol wow....

Yeah. I'd really like to find a few good reasons (games) to keep it. I bought it without thinking because I thought it would go out of stock too quick. I never bothered to keep up with the 360's library all these years. Didn't realize both PS3 and 360 shared so many titles until afterwords.

But yeah, so far, Forza is still my only "must try" game. Maybe Tales of Vesperia. Thanks for the recommendations, though, Sagum.

You can kind of 'thank' Sony for the lack of exclusive rights for games on a console. When the first xbox was released, Microsoft found it super hard to gain any ground with publishers because Sony had tied all the publishers up with exclusive rights and was one of the ways they helped stave off other consoles back in the day. People said the xbox would flop because of Sony's dominance in the console market and the original xbox kind of did flop to an extent. However, Microsoft leant pretty quickly and by the time the 360 was released, they were boasting they had signed up near all Sony's past publishers of exclusive titles. That's pretty much why we have so many cross platform titles now with little to no exclusive games. Its more about exclusive DLC now.

In saying that, I'm more of a PC gamer and while I do own an xbox I only powered it on last night to perform the system update.

The only thing right now that sets the 360 apart from the PS3 is Kinect (should look into them if you're planning on keeping it as something 'different') and lack of bluray support. But even then, PSMove for most will make up for Kinect.

Personally, if you can live without the few Microsoft published studio titles, I'd use it for a year playing some of the online games and then sell it and buy more PS3 games. :)

Interesting info about the exclusives. But yeah, that sounds like an idea. Maybe I'll just keep it around for a year since I already have the Gold membership.

Man, I wish this had happened a few days ago. I just bought a new console to replace one that was failing, would have been happy to buy that off you!

Aw man. The deal started on Thursday and just ended this morning, I believe.

J-RPGs: Lost Odyssey (great), Blue Dragon (annoying characters but good gameplay), The Last Remnant (Good but has some framerate issues), Infinite Undiscovery (average), Magna Carta 2 (average)

I'm assuming your kidding. Your logic is way too dumb. I forgot the OP doesn't have internet to look up the consoles current lineup. I also forgot you have no way of knowing what's available until AFTER you buy the console. I know your just trolling my comments cause you can't be that oblivious.

Same could be said for you as I don't own a PS3 or a 360 and I could only give you the names of a few titles. Apparently your reading comprehension skills are seriously lacking as he very clearly explained he bought the 360 on a whim, before he had the chance to research it. Go troll somewhere else, your attitude stinks.

    • You do you, I've just said that it first appeared in "home" version before it will be available in "work" one. I use Edge only because it still supports MV2 uBO extension even on Android - I'll switch when they stop.
    • I imagine that was a review or something? My reviews mostly contain a lot of images and galleries, but these are all webp too, but yeah it all adds up on the page load. Would help if you were more helpful with your critique instead of bitching and moaning like a Karen 😂 Because then we might be able to fix it for you.
    • If Valve refused to let them make the case, I wonder if they've already partnered with someone else to do it? The fact that they didn't seek permission/licence before diving straight in is incredible though
    • OpenClaw now has native mobile apps on iOS and Android by Karthik Mudaliar OpenClaw, the viral open-source personal AI agent, now has its own mobile app, available on both Android and iOS. Users can pair the app with an existing OpenClaw gateway and can start using new mobile-native features that are now available on the app. The app supports all the existing features you'd already have seen on OpenClaw's TUI, as well as some more, such as real-time and background Talk mode, action approvals, sharing from iOS, and optional access to device capabilities such as camera, screen, location, photos, contacts, calendar, and reminders. These features are available on both the Android and iOS versions of the app. What's important with these apps is that they don't run OpenClaw on your phone, but are actually just companion apps that require a running OpenClaw Gateway on an existing device, on macOS, Linux, or Windows via WSL2. To pair the app with your existing OpenClaw gateway, users need to run the command "/pair qr" on the TUI or existing chat interface, which brings up a QR code. Users can then scan this QR code to pair it up with the mobile app. There's also an option to manually pair the app by entering the host and a port. Previously, OpenClaw had been available on phones via WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Matrix, and others. Now, with a native mobile app, the interface is much cleaner and more focused on just the OpenClaw, of course, with the added support for camera, screen, location, and more. It's important to note that OpenClaw comes with its own security warnings. There's always a chance of prompt injection with these tools, so users are recommended to double-check authentication, tool policy, sandboxing, and execution approvals rather than prompts alone. For users well-versed with the AI harness, a native mobile app makes it easier to approve an automation, share a link, use voice, or let an agent react to phone-side context.
