How many posts did you have / how well known did you become, until you felt comfortable saying "Welcome to Neowin" to new members ?

When I join a new forum, I don't feel like it's my place with only a few posts to welcome new members, I always wait until I've got a few hundred posts at least

Kinda makes me feel like I have been invited to a friend of a friends house, and then take it upon myself to invite my own friends too

I don't know how many posts i have but i havent reached the point where i cared enough to welcome to new members. If anything i fear they'll steal the spotlight from us, therefore i become more and more angry each time a new member signs up.

So for each welcome topic, i'm like




Remix will still be my friend though no matter how many new members we get!

Wouldn't worry about it mate. You've been here a good few years now and even if you'd only been here a week, it's still polite to welcome people.

I do if I catch the thread before 20 people have already welcomed them, but when I join a new forum I always wait until I've been active for a good while first, I guess when it feels like I am part of the community and not a newbie anymore

That's me as well. When I was new here I wouldn't welcome anyone. Now, I feel like it's my place to welcome them.
