http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B009JT0KOE

Quoted resolution is
800*480

But everything on the screen seems stretched.

It's as though it isn't running the native resolution. Circles become ovals, squares become rectangles and text is quite clearly taller than it's supposed to be.

Any ideas how to fix this? Even if it means rooting it and editing some files?

can you provide a screen shot?

Just press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time.

The screenshot will most likely look correct because it will be displayed at your display's native resolution, therefor looking correct :|

Oh and it seems that the problem is more pronounced in portrait mode

Looks fine on other screens see!

So the display is either:

Higher resolution than they state and it scales the UI down, or the opposite... Hmmm....

Already did this btw, I didn't intend to make mine look like a nexus 7 but with that launcher, I thought it sort of did :)

No, but I have just looked into it, not sure if it would fix anything.

Maybe your tablet exists in a different space and time and things appear different there to the human eye...................

Did you have a look through the settings menu for a stretch image or similar option?

^ Raises a good question: Is it just in this app, or throughout?
