Hello folks,

I did some quick searches to see if this had been posted already, but didn't find any.

I just stumbled across this "easter egg" on my LG Nitro HD running Android 4.0.4 - ICS, completely by accident. I was looking to see if AT&T had released an OTA update for this phone yet (which of course they haven't) by going thorough Settings -> About phone -> Software update. Frustrated with the lack of available updates, i just started clicking on the "Android version" entry. If you click on it repeatedly, this little Ice Cream Sandwich NyanCat Dude shows up. Click on him and hold down for a few seconds, and you get pure epic awesomeness! I won't spoil that by posting the screencap here, though.

I later searched Google and found this to be an already known easter egg, but it was totally a surprise to me. Enjoy.

Same thing happens on my Nexus 4. Except instead of Nyandroid, I get a giant red jellybean with android antennae and a smilie face.

And if you keep tapping the screen, you get a new screen with a bunch of jelly beans floating in zero-g. Pretty cool.

Yeah, i tried the above on my Galaxy S3 running 4.1 JellyBean and saw the same thing. (Y) you can fling the beans around, too, if you're really bored.

First time i've ever found an easter egg by accident, i think.

Yup. Same here on my nexus 7. I like throwing the jelly beans around. Pretty cool feature. If you tap the build number it will enable the developer options.

This is an easter egg that has been in the base Android code since Gingerbread. Some manufacturer's modified versions may remove it, but AOSP will always do it. Gingerbread is Android Zombie art, ICS is ice cream sandwich androids doing nyan cat, and JB is just jellybeans.

An oldie, but a goodie! I love flicking jelly beans around on my SGS with cyanogen mod 10 stable. Phone is as solid as a rock, though. No instability, and no AT&T garbage. Just the way I like it! (I discovered the easter egg by accident)

Anyone on JellyBean managed to flick all the beans off the screen and completely empty the screen before more turn up ?

Screenshot if you manage to :p

I've tried that a few times before, and never was able to get them all off the screen. I'd imagine that you'd have an easier time getting them all off on a lower-resolution screen.

Yea I've done that, on my gnex. Doesn't take long before they come back though.

    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.

Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
    • Interesting read. I knew the adware was quite controversial at the time, however never realised to the point The Guardian wrote an article about Patchou. I just said no and enjoyed his creation, I’d probably be a lot more wary of something like that today though.
